I'm wearing these right now.

I love these pants so much I actually bought a second pair. The full-length gusset and stretch fabric allows for plenty of mobility while I'm out hiking or climbing in the Wasatch. The DWR treatment is a nice touch, as I've bushwhacked through overgrown trails through the morning dew, and the moisture beads up and rolls right off. Also, the zippered cargo pocket is pretty low-profile giving the pants a nice casual look, so I can wear them to work or out to the bar.

Early Review: Great Pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32/30

Got them less than a week ago so this review will not cover durability which is why I will not give these 5 stars yet.
As for the fit, I am around 5'10'' and usually wear a 32/32 in jeans. These Zioneers are true to fit in the waist but tend to be a bit longer so I got them in 32/30 which fits perfectly. I don't agree with comments stating these being "too baggy" because they are far from it. If you are looking for skinnier, you may want to think about getting tights. As for the "baggy legs from the knee down" comments, this most likely means you ordered the wrong size. Try a size down for the length as it will fill out more. They fit more snug than the Stretch Zion throughout the leg but provide sufficient stretch and room to accomplish athletic tasks. They are breathable, extremely comfortable, and I love the style of the pockets but beware of their depth. The main pockets are little too shallow for my taste and the side pocket may not be large enough for new smartphones. The side pocket fits my Galaxy S6 perfectly but struggles with the newer unnecessarily larger phones such as the S8 or iPhone X. (The S8 does fit but barely).

I loved the fit and feel of the Zion pants but found them just slightly too billowy from the knees down. Enter: the Zioneers. Same material, but a trimmer fit. I prefer the symmetrical back pockets of the Zioneer and can live without the two-zip cargo pocket. Unlike others, I rate the Zioneers as a little more casual than Zions, what with the "jeans" 5 pocket styling, vs the slash pockets. But, I have casual dress, chinos and khakis galore. These dress up just enough to make do in most settings. It's still too soon to speak to their durability or how they perform in 90 degree, 80 % humidity that we get in July, but I have plan B for that too.. All in all, I'm very pleased. Great look and feel. Give me more colors and I'll buy them.

Not the 5 star pant it was...

  • Size Bought: 34X32

I bought these pants for my Dad as a Christmas because I've had some for years and love them. The only thing is the new models are much baggier in the lower legs. He exclaimed that they looked liked "bell bottoms." The fabric is still wonderful but it seems the fit has changed on the pants.

My favorite pants

They fit so well. They're breathable. They keep me dry when walking to class in the rain. And it takes a while for them to get smelly. I've yet to go hiking with them, but next time I go on a day-hike, these will be the pants I wear.

Find myself in these pants whenever I can. 30x34 is my size and I didn’t find the pants too baggy nor slim. I would say just right. Haven’t used them hard yet but hope they will hold up. I have similar style pants from LL bean, Marmot, & Kuhl. These are the most comfortable of the lot and seem to be somewhat warmer in the cooler weather which I like. External pockets on both sides would be nice but, I’m not mad I bought them at all and enjoy them so far

The Magic pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 34X34

Phenomenal design and material, great breathability. Magic when it comes to water and stains, you just watch the water drip off and the stains are gone within 5 minutes on their own..its crazy. The waist band is the best, love the cinch feature, wish other brands would encorporate it more. The only worry I had was the fit, they are long and much baggier than the previous models. I roll them anyways because I use these strictly for climbing and camping. Super great pant for what I use them for, and props to Prana, just wish they were a little more slim!

Not for me but they are very nice

The pants are just way long on me and really baggy, so I just feel awkward in them is all. With that aside I think these are great for literally anything you want to do. They are really comfy and stretchy so you can go from sitting at your house to climbing to hiking. They felt very breezy which is always a plus. I think maybe when they have some 32x30 I will pick up a pair that will fit me a whole lot better. The pants are great the only reason I didn't keep mine is I would rather wait for my length to be in stock so I can actually enjoy my pants. The snaps felt a little awkward to use but they were pretty much the whole selling point for me, they roll up past a couple inches above your ankles if that's your thing.

Lookin good and feelin good too!

I got these pants for my dad for his birthday and he called me the next day to ask what other colors they came in because he wanted a couple more pairs! He's in the car a lot for work and he said he can't even tell he's wearing pants! He said the waistband is the most comfortable waistband he's ever had on non lounge wear pants and he loves that little easy cinch buckle feature. He's also a golfer so I thought these would be good pants to wear to work and then straight to the golf course after. I asked my mom what size to get him because I was really worried about Prana's sizing running weird but she said in the 26 years they've been married he's always been a 34×30 so that's what I got him and they fit perfect!

    Ideal pant for outdoor activites

This pant has some amazing features that really lend to a great outdoor pant. The stretch fabric with gusseted crotch make it extremely movable and comfortable for climbing and hiking. Fabric seems really durable and shows no where after considerable use.
Lots of detail. Extra zippered side pocket and back pockets add great storage. Snaps at leg bottoms add ability to get the larger leg openings put up and out of the way when climbing or in sandals. Really like the belt that is minimal sized but works great.

All that I like in a hiking pant. Blends well when not on the trail, breaths well and drys fast and moves with my strides comfortably.

I absolutely love these pants. They are close to the most comfortable pants I have ever worn aside from my pajamas. The reach I was able to accomplish while climbing and bouldering were as good as my gym shorts. Thank you Backcountry and Prana! Ran a little long, but I am a shorty for my size.
