great travel pant

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 31 x 30

These pants are comfortable and soft, unlike some other travel pants that feel a little stiff (like starched or nylony). These feel like soft cotton. These are great for traveling, since they dry quickly after washing, which is handy when you need to line dry clothing or using electric dryers that are more common in europe.

They would be perfect if one of the back pockets zippered. It's nice to have zippered pockets to keep a wallet or other valuables while traveling. As it is, it has a zippered cargo pocket, which is also nice because it's flush to the pant leg.

I was given these from Backcountry, but this review is independent of that. Wore these Prana Stretch Zion pants consistently over the course of a 2 week trip through Patagonia and they performed very well. I needed a 2nd pair of pants to alternate with my Arcteryx Lefroys, and these performed great. Compared to the Lefroys, the Stretch Zion Pants are a bit heavier fabric and also heavier in weight due to some features (such as the dual-access cargo pocket and the 2 rear pockets). I was impressed with their comfort over the trip and used for mostly trail-based hiking, in dry and light rain and they were great. Dried quickly as well after getting soaked through from several hours in the rain. No signs of wear yet. Fit true to size, although I would have preferred if they were a tad slimmer. For reference, I'm 6' and 170lbs and the 32x30 fit well (these also have a built in belt).

Would definitely recommend as a solid, all around hiking & scrambling pant for someone who isn't looking for the lightest/most minimal pant out there.

Stretchy

Received a pair of stretch lions as a gift and I am happy with the quality of the garment. Indeed the fabric is comfortable to wear and moves with your every move. Can't wait to put these through the ringer. They fit true to size and have a relaxed low waist.

Awesome Pant

I purchased a pair of these as a Christmas gift and they were a total hit. Great for hiking, climbing, lounging, and around town. Well constructed pant, light weight, and well designed.

Favorite Pants

  • Size Bought: 30x30

These pants are built for what ever you need. They are good for climbing, working, fishing, etc. You should really get a pair.

Great looking pant!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 30x30

Wore these on a hike through Forest Park (Portland) in a light drizzle and the water resistance held up great! Be careful with sizing. The inseam length on the 30x30’s is actually 29 inches. So if you’re going for 30 or 31 inch inseam, order a 32 and get it hemmed. Prana is a great company and they just might reimburse you for the cost of the hem up to a certain amount.

Great Pants!

These pants are light and breathable, and they fit perfectly. Very happy with my first Prana purchase and will definitely be back for more!

Comfortable pants

I gave these as a gift and he loves them, very comfortable pant that is stretchy and easy to move in. And they come with an attached belt, they do stretch a bit as you wear them so the belt is nice to tighten/loosen as needed.

Comfort and style Ruke supreme

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 28x32

These pants are amazing. I wear the short inseam(28") and love them. Comfortable to the touch, light weight and airy. These pants are as comfortable as pajamas. Most of the time I barely even know I am wearing them. I am 5'4" tall and these fit me perfectly. I wear these to work, out on the town with friends, and when on back country adventures on the trails. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an awesome pair of pants for hiking or daily like.

Great Climbing/Hiking Pant

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 30x34

Super comfortable pant for climbing in the gym or going for hikes in the outdoors. I like the snaps that secure the pants when rolled up. If you are looking for a durable, stretchy pant for those types of activities these are the ones. I found that they run pretty true to size, maybe a little small in the waist compared to other pant's I wear in the same sizing.

Love!

My brother in law has these pants. Straight from the source: "Prana Pant Review: I love these pants. I pretty much wear them, and the several other pairs I have in different colors, practically every day. Comfortable, for great and true to size for me. Work great for a wide range of activities as I can wear them hiking and rock climbing as well as into the office for work. Only downside is that I usually get stopped when going through the airport because of the side pockets. The little extra pat down is totally worth it for how great these pants are."

Extremely versatile pant.

Durable, comfortable, stretch for activities.
Just amazing. I have big thighs and this accommodates me without being too baggy or long.
I'm buying a couple more sets.

the best pants I've ever worn

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

These are, hands-down, the best pants I've ever worn. They are shockingly comfortable. The waist size is right on, and the small belt helps to keep them snug as you wear them. The gusseted and ventilated crotch is fantastic and keeps the pants from ever feeling constricted. They also repel water and stains very well. Lastly, the buttons at the bottom that allow them to roll up are just icing on the cake!

fantastic pants

comfortable, well-constructed, water- and stain-repellant

fantastic pants

my favorite, but inseam is short

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 38X32

I returned a pair of 38X30 as the inseam was too short, although I usually wear 30" inseam. Ordered the 30X32 and they are perfect, although 32" is usually too long for my legs. Most comfortable of the three I tried: Prana, NorthFace and Royal Robbins. I thought that the legs of the NorthFace and RoyalRobbins pants were too constraining for hiking. Prana is perfect for me. You may need to order a longer inseam that with your dress/casual pants.

Super comfortable, love them

I bought these pants a few months back at REI for a full price ($85 or so). It was an impulsive purchase to fill a requirement for a bonus gift card (and I needed some pants anyways). $85 was worth it to me, and I’m not a money spender, but if you can get these on a discount, I definitely would. Tried them on, and I’m sure I’ve never had better fitting pants. Bought them for casual use, with occasional hiking, and they are perfect for that, but I’m sure they’re perfect for strictly outdoor usage too. However, I would try to get a chance to try them on to find the right sizing (especially if your thighs are thinner than ‘medium/average’), because I had to go with a different sizing than with the other pants I tried on, although these fit better than them all. Now on to the pants:

At first I was ‘afraid’ to be fully comfortable with the pants, since the material had such a “fine” finish, and the front pockets are mesh (considering keys, etc), but after using them for a while, I’m getting more and more confident on the structure of these pants, and I’m sure these can take a real beating. The zippered side pocket (not mesh) has a “zipper lock” function, so the zipper only moves when the grab handle is pointing out - this is a great feature, you can be sure nothing makes its way out, and the pocket can also be accessed from two angles, making it easier accessible while sitting/standing. Not much to say about the back pockets, except that one of them has an overlap ‘flap’ over the opening to keep things more secure - Although I rarely use my back pockets, I’m glad they added this feature, and it looks subtle and nice. Legs can be buttoned up, but the buttons are also subtle, and nothing feels ‘in the way’ - a nice feature as well. There are ventilation holes up inbetween your legs - used these pants in chillier and warmer temperatures, and the vents seem to balance the air flow and regulate temperatures pretty nicely. Overall these pants are great, I’d say for everyday use, urban usage, travel, varied outdoor activities, and especially for a combination of these uses (I’d go for lighter colors if you’ll be using it in hotter temperatures, though, as with any clothing). The only con I have for these pants, which is not enough to remove a star, is that I find it a tiny bit of hassle to get inside my zippered pocket. This might just be me, though, not the pants. Happy thanksgiving 2018!

Awesome Pants!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These pants are the most durable, functional pants I have found. They take a beating and keep on going. Climbing, hiking, working or hanging out ! They can do it all.

Awesome Climbing Pant!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 31x32

I love this pant! If there's anything to complain is that it's little baggie. I prefer a more form fitting tight pant, but for a technical pant for climbing and hiking it is extremely comfortable and durable (not to mention very mobile).

A little baggy, otherwise solid choice

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 33x34

The ONLY thing I don't like about the Zion pant is that they are baggy! I would love a slim version of these. That said, you can easily layer under them when needed. They are comfy and and tough and that's probably more important than any fashion statements you are trying to make. Though the fact that they are a bit baggy will keep me from wearing them outside of trekking. I've owned many pairs and it's hard to go wrong with them.
