Halle Pant

From the climbing crag to the corner coffee shop, the Prana Women's Halle Pant is designed to tackle just about everything and anything you throw at it. The Halle features Prana's famed and pliable Stretch Zion fabric, which stretches for unimpeded mobility, dries quickly, and is wrinkle-resistant. The Halle is equipped with a DWR treatment to fend off coffee spills and light precipitation, and a relaxed fit readies the Halle for uninhibited movements. Articulated knees help you step over boulders, fallen trees, or sidewalk obstacles with ease. Not to mention, the Halle easily converts into a capri when when you roll up the legs and secure them with the internal buttons and loops.

  • Trouser-inspired pants for active or casual wear
  • Stretch fabric is moisture-wicking and wrinkle-resistant
  • DWR treatment fends off light moisture
  • Roll-up leg feature converts pant into capris
  • Multiple pockets keep necessities close
  • Relaxed fit maintains mobility while hiking or climbing

Favorite. Pants. Ever.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 6 tall

I own 4 pairs of these pants. They are amazing. I have long legs and talls are hard to find. I can actually size down to a 6 in these pants and I’m normally a 6/8. They have taken a beating but have held up for countless hunts and belly crawls through the woods. They are perfectly light enough for our Florida heat. I highly recommend.

Love them but quality is disappointing

My fiancé purchased the similar men’s style from Prana and after seeing his, I just had to have them! Let me begin by saying I love the style of these pants. Exactly what I was looking for. But the quality is not what I expected of Prana. I was disappointed to find the women’s style of these pants are much more poorly made than the men’s. The quality of the material is thinner and cheaper and the seams are already coming undone after only minimal wear. It’s disappointing to find that most brands put more effort into designing their menswear than women’s. Sad that even Prana is a among them.

Love these

I have these pants in about 6 colors. I love them. They’re lightweight, comfortable and I can wear anywhere. I wear to work, hiking, rock gym, baseball games, around.... I love the fit, colors and how they roll up to capris.

I also have these in 6 colors. Great pants!!!

Love these pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 4 reg

I bought one pair of these pants hoping to find a light casual comfortable pant. I'm familiar with Prana I have two pair of their convertible hiking pants, which I love. When I receive these pants I absolutely loved them and immediately bought three more pair. I'm a size 4 and they fit true to size. I love the drawstring option I often have to cinch in the waist. I was reading another review about this drawstring causing a pucker at the waist, however the drawstring is loose so all you have to do is pull the pant towards the back and it all evens out. I've never written a review before but I love these pants so much I wanted to give them the praise they deserve ! I wear these pants every day . The fabric doesn't stretch out they stay neat and nice from the minute you put them on to the minute you take them off

Great pants

Comfortable all day wear .True to size. Lite weight for the hot days.

    Not for Petite Women

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 2P

These pants seemed like they were well constructed and would be great for average sized women. I had to return them. Being 4'11", 98lbs, with a 25" inseam, I expected to have to hem these pants, but the knee detail was so far down my leg that cutting a few inches off the bottom wouldn't have made them fit lengthwise. Additionally, they were extremely loose. I'd ordered a 2/Short after looking at the size chart (I have a 26" waist and hips that fluctuate between 35-36"). The 2/Shorts were falling-off-big. I returned these and tracked down a pair of 0 Halle pants in a local store. Even the 0s were too loose and could be pulled down without even unbuttoning them.

Despite what outdoor companies' sizing charts always claim, I have yet to find any hiking pants in a 0/short/petite that actually come close enough to fitting me to warrant the expense. Note to Prana: taking 2" off the bottom of pants isn't enough for petite women. The entire length of the pants' proportions needs to be adjusted (i.e. rise, taper, side pocket positioning, knee details, etc.). Also, if someone is only 2" shorter than average, they can make do with regular length pants by simply hemming them. Please consider making a "short" version of pants with an inseam that is more like 4"+ shorter than normal, enough to actually make a difference for petite women.

I really wish I had seen your review prior to buying mine! I am 5'0" and I ran into the same problem. The knee detail was way off, I had to just improvise and keep it perpetually rolled into capris. Great review BTW!

    Go-To-Adventure Pant!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 0 Short

PrAna hit the nail on the head with these pants - whether its climbing, hiking, yoga, or a casual day, the Halle convertible does it all. The material does two things that are crucial: 1) It's pretty damn warm and wind resistant, and 2) it is water resistant. The Zion blend really kills it in the warmth department, while still keeping it breathable if you're doing something active. The convertible feature is awesome if you're someone who, like me, is either always cold or suffers from random hot flashes. You can roll the pants up to the knee to get the exposed zipper out of the way for a neater shorts look, and the removed bottom legs are easy to pack. This feature is the most convenient for long approaches to the crag or campsite during the day, and when the sun goes down the detachable legs are simple and easy to put back on for warmth and mosquito coverage.

Another great feature is the relaxed fit and stretch of the Zion material -- it allows for a lot of movement if you're doing something active, and fits almost like a sweatpant. The only thing I wasn't stoked on was how large they fit as well as the adjustable drawstring. It's a smart feature, but I don't think it's executed very well. If you tie it too tight, the waist button sticks out harshly and leaves a gap between the pant and your waist.

Otherwise, one of the best and most durable pants ever.

If you pull the waistband towards the back after you tie them it all smooths out

Ana- Are you sure you reviewed the Halle pant by Prana? They are capable of rolling up to make capri pants, but the bottoms are not detachable. I have some Prana Monarch pants that have detachable bottom legs.

    Great gift

Got these for a friend of mine for a hiking trip -- she loves them! Well made, durable, water-proof. Highly recommended!

Gave as a gift they love em'

I gave these pants as a gift for my partner. She wasn't too sure about wearing pants that were looser towards the end of the legs, but she loves them. Great for climbing in, and the added drawstring, and capri straps are a great addition.

    Not the best

Nice color, not the best fit - too low slung and the combination of a zipper, two buttons and a drawstring at the waist just is not convenient, it is fussy, & does not work - a snap and a zipper would be sufficient. Wore them once in the house but could not return because I did not have the original tag.......really? !?

      Not the best

      Love them!!!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 8

It took several tries to find the right size. I started with a 12, then a 10 and finally kept the size 8. I take responsibility for this slight problem because I lost a bunch of weight and had no clue what size I wore. I am currently 5'7" and weight between 133 and 138. I am also 56 years old, which I think makes a difference in how clothing fits. I don't like my clothes tight and usually wear them loose. I took these pants on a barrier island trip and wore them the several days I was there. One night fishing in the cool of the windy moon, one day hiking in the heat of the sun, and the trip home. They were very comfortable!!! Not too hot, not too cold, just right! I am going to order more, now that I know what size I wear, lol.

      Awesome

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave these to my sister to wear on her backpacking trips. She has multiple pairs and absolutely loves them! She says they are comfortable, breathable, and all around a great pant!

      Good, but...

      • Size Bought: 8 reg

My wife really liked these pants for our trip hiking around New Zealand. The fit worked well for her longer legs. The only problem was that one of the snaps that holds the pants in capri mode broke off, so she had to keep them full length. She would give these 5 stars if they used quality snaps.

      Really nice hiking pants

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

I am 5'3", 112lbs, hips 36". Size bought 2 Short. Fits perfect. Not too tight, not too loose. Unsure if I would wear them climbing but they are supper stretchy and comfortable. Perfect for hiking.

      Excellent choice

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 6

This is the hiking pant I’ve been looking for. Material is comfortable and wears well (I always hang to dry). Based on other reviews, I ordered a size down (normally I’m an 8 but went with the 6). The cut, fit, length are great and I love the zippered pocket on the front of the thigh, which is perfect for carrying credit cards, phone, etc. without worrying that they’ll fall out. I removed the ties around the waist because they didn’t add any benefit and I felt like they got in the way. The cargo feature is also neat but I’ve only used it a couple times. Highly recommend these pants as a hiking or even day-to-day staple.

      Nearly Perfect

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

These have been my go to hiking pants for several years now. I've bought several colors over the years and enjoyed each one of them. The DWR finish helps keep them dry in mild conditions and clean when you're outside and you're pants may also be your napkin or you're sliding through dirt. The finish on average last between 2-3 years in my opinion with casual use (once a week).

I don't care for or use the capri feature, although I do roll them up when climbing. They breathe well and move well and come with plenty of secure pockets. I wish the pockets were deeper though. I would prefer the hem/leg opening to be slightly more narrow to lend to casual looks better, but the overall fit is nice. Hugs the backside enough for a feminine feel.

I'm 5'7 and wear size 8. These fit well in the legs but are a bit loose at the waist. I could go for the 6s now but I think they'd still feel a little tight. Unfortunately they do stretch too much after a couple days of use and sometimes feel like they won't stay up well enough. Even with the drawstring, I'll have to pull it so tight the material bunches.

The only real negative is the two buttons. I have maybe six pairs total and every single pair the buttons have ripped off. They are sewn on so poorly, the buttons are loose on brand new pants. You can sew them back on easily, but I'm surprised Prana hasn't adjusted the design. Men's pants buttons don't use thread, but rather the pant material itself to secure, so I'm not sure why they can't figure it out for the ladies.

Love them but they run really big

      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 2

I ordered a 4 When I’d normally get a 2 due to all the people saying they ran small. The 4 was HUGE. So I reordered a 2 and they were still too big. So hopefully the 3rd time is a charm Because I’m ordering a 0. I’m 5’8 125 and love that they come in tall sizes. Typically I can’t find pants long enough. Very high quality. If they weren’t , I wouldn’t have gone through all the returns.

I have three now, so there’s your review

Been collecting them in different colors. Great for hiking, flexible and wear fine for climbing. Loose enough to even wear a mid weight under when it’s cold. Love them.

      Women's Stretch Zions

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

The women's version of the Prana's iconic Stretch Zion. These pants are great for everything from casual wear, to hiking/backpacking, to climbing. They have a flattering cut and come in a wide array of sizes (even plus sizes) and inseam lengths. My fiance loves her pair and uses them as her go to adventure pants. They fit true to Prana's sizing. She is about 5'4, 110lbs and found a great fit in size 0/Short.

      Love these pants

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: 8 short

This is my second pair of these pants, which I bought after adoring the first pair. I am 5'6, 135lbs, with a fairly athletic build and very muscular legs (i.e., "skinny pants" generally won't make it past my calves); I ordered the size 8, short length, and these pants fit me like a dream. They are cute and flattering enough that I can wear them to work, and the fabric is "techy" enough that they seem to stand up well to travel and hiking wear and tear - I wore them for a week-long trip in the rain this winter and they definitely shed water. I like the drawstring which adds extra fit to the waist, and if you do wear the same pair of pants for a week, will keep them up even after they stretch out a bit. On sizing I selected runs small just because in other prana pants I usually wear a 6, and really I could probably wear a 6 on these if i didn't mind them fitting tighter, but like them a bit more loose and comfortable. Highly recommend!

      How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
      Chest:
Place the tape measure under the arms and around the fullest part of your bust with arms raised slightly.
      Sleeve Length:
With arms slightly bent, measure from the center of your back neck, across your shoulder and down the outside of your arm to wrist bone.
      Waist:
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.
      Hip:
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
      Inseam:
Grab your favorite pair of jeans/pants. Measure the inseam of these pants starting at the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg (round to the nearest 1/2 inch).
