Love Prana, but....

I love Prana, but the fabric of this Brion pant is shiny, almost glittery. Very disappointed, as I love the fit.

Great fit, comfy, but falling apart

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I'm not very rough on my gear, and haven't even climbed or hiked in these pants yet, only worn around the house. After the first wash they started to pill, and after a few washes they have several threads that have pulled up and snapped, leaving very little confidence in these pants for anything active. They're very comfy and fit very well, but after such brief use they look in awful condition which is a shame because the fabric didn't do this in previous versions.

Finally a true slim pant form Prana!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I had the prior version of both Brions and Straight Zions and both were just a little too baggy in the lower leg for my tastes despite being constantly praised on Reddit as a good do everything pant. Prana fixed that problem with the Brion Slim IIs. There slim from the thigh to the ankle, have good stretch, and feel great on the trail, in the bouldering gym, or just wearing them for casual use. If I had a gripe its that the new Zion material is a little shinier, but I can live with that. Clearly...I bought them in 3 colors. I'm a 32 or 33 waist usually in most pants and usually go for a 34 inseam. I got these in a 32/34 and the fit is fantastic. Like the original Zion material they do stretch a little throughout the wear so they should be snug when you first put them on or you might end up feeling like they are a size too big.

Been living in these

Great fit if you're on the slimmer side, and very comfortable. The downside is that the nature of this fabric seems to make it very susceptible to snags and string pulls, so not really something you'd want to wear for walking through brush or if you come across a friendly or unfriendly cat. I was very excited at first and bought two pairs, but I think I will hunt for some trousers made with more robust materials. I was pretty close stocking up because the cut is perfect for me.

Great upgrade

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Brion I is my daily driver pant. I've worn them extensively for the last several years. The only downside to them was that I needed to get them tailored due to the huge, baggy leg openings. These Brion II pants are everything I wanted from the original Brion. I recommend sizing up 1 or 2 sizes from what you normally wear. I need a belt with the Brion I in a 30. In Brion II, a 31 is snug but comfortable, and 32 is a little looser but I can still get away without a belt. It's definitely a modern slim fit overall. The leg openings are tapered and look very similar to my altered Brion I pants. If you don't want a skinny looking fit, these pants aren't for you. There are no significant differences in material quality. It *might* have a little more shine than the Brion I, but it's only noticeable when I'm looking at them side-by-side. If anything, they look more like jeans to me than Brion I, but that's subjective. Overall, I highly recommend these pants. They work for me, and I'll be buying more.

Runs very small prAna Brion Slim Pant II

It says "slim" but really they are a "skinny" fit, definitely go a size or two up. The material is very stretchy, more like a pair of women's leggings. I was expecting something like Lululemon ABC pants, but these are nothing like that, not near the quality.

only two weeks old :(

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Bought these for my 16 yr old son to wear to school and after only two weeks of class room sitting the back side is balling up and the lower leg of the pant looks worn. Super disappointed in the quality of the pant- and exchange or refund would be awesome! He has had several other pair of Prana pant and I've never seen anything like this before.

Brion II Quality Vs Brion

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Brion II Pants material is thinner and shiny. They fit more like tights vs pants. Not anything like the original Brion Pant which is a great casual pant as well as being cut for comfort so it can be worn in multiple outdoor pursuits.

Need 1 size up waist vs brion v1

My brion v1 were the best pants I ever tried. I got rid of all my other pants and only needed my 3 different brion colors. The brion v1 held up great for years, I just can't resist upgrading to the better modern fit of the brion v2. I only wore just tried on the v2 and noticed the waist felt 1 size smaller than the v1. The slim fit was perfect with the same gusset that helps with flexibility for climbing. The material on the v2 dark iron felt softer than the v1, but the black v2 wasn't as soft as the dark iron v2. The black v2 was still soft and comfortable though. I can't comment on the durability but I had no issues with the v1 so I'm sure the v2 will hold up great as well.

Finally, a true modern cut Brion

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The original straight prAna Brions seemed to be prAna's attempt at a slimmer more modern cut, they were way too wide at the base (I still bought them, and had some taken in). These fixed that issue and they are a tapered modern fit that hits the mark. They can be dressed up, but they still perform well on the trail, on a bike, or on easier climbs. They are also the perfect travel pants. A definite staple in my wardrobe before the update, and now they fixed my biggest gripe with the Brion 2 update!
