Runs bit large, long / wide in the waist

i love the colors and style pictured for this sweater dress - however it runs large, which was surprising.
Also, the cut is not completely fitted, it runs to a square shape rather than round / curved. So from the arm to the hips it is cut too straight down, rather than fitted.
This means that it gives me extra sag and bag at the midline and relies on stretching to give form rather than the shape of the dress. It does not naturally contour with the curves of the body. It may work better for someone with a larger frame in general or more curvy physique able to compensate for the straight middle section by filling out more in other places. I am curvy but slim, athletic build, and ended up with a baggy roll of material bunched at the waist on what would otherwise be a lovely easy dress to wear.
