Get baggy.

Too many women’s mountain bike shorts are designed to be form fit with little room for essentials. POC’s trail shorts, on the other hand, are given a design, that while not as baggy as a men’s cargo short, feature multiple pockets for gear. Two front pockets and a side zippered pocket hold your electronics or keys securely. The fabric is a two-way stretch nylon so that the seams won’t tear no matter which direction your body moves while riding. Additionally, the nylon has been knit with a breathable pattern that helps to move moisture away from the skin. The Trail shorts are secured with an adjustable wide waistband with hook-and-loop straps.

Definitely an enduro short

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

After putting these on initially, I wasn't sold. The sizing is huge throughout the legs, but the waist size is pretty spot on. I wasn't sure about the fit because they come down to just below the knee and brushed the backs of my calves. However, when I threw on knee pads, I realized these are a better pair of shorts for enduro/downhill. With immense knee pad compatibility and the ruggedized polyester material, these things are meant for hauling downhill but still light and breathable for hot days here in Utah. There are a couple of side pockets, but no way to close them off, so securing anything on your person is our of the question.

I'm a size medium with a 29" waist, 38" hips and tree trunks for quads, and these definitely fit baggy.

Great product, but horrible sizing

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Will I ever find a short that fits? I am always between a M and a L. I ended up keeping the large that I ordered, but it fits more like a medium. The shorts are nice and long so there is no gaper gap between my 7idp pads and my shorts, but these guys are snug buggers. They do stretch a little bit but not enough to make them my comfortable, go to and favorite short. I would not buy another pair...

Pretty Bomb

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XS

I'm a big fan of POC, and I'm digging these shorts! They're accurate in saying that they're a little baggy but not so much that you're swimming in them. I fit comfortably in an XS in their spandies, and picked up the same size in these- they fit well in the waist, almost a little tight but I feel the S would be too roomy- for reference, I wear a 25 in jeans. I am fairly athletically built- between my big ol' quads and the smaller waist, I can't use the hand pockets too well (although this seems to be a common issue with the POC shorts, my bf has the same problem on his Trail Vent Shorts).
The material is great- super durable (I've taken a handful of good spills and no sign of wear or tear). I like the length as well- comfortably fit over knee pads, but not too long for my short stature!

Unanswered Question

Do these shorts have a mesh liner?

What's the inseam on these shorts? I'm 6" and like my mtb shorts to come down to my knee or mid knee as to cover pads if necessary.

Inseam on these is 12 inches.
