    Tech Specs

    VPD (visco-elastic polymer dough)
    Protection Area:
    Closure System:
    shoulder strap, elastic waistband
    Recommended Use:

A well ventilated protector, POC's Spine VPD 2.0 Back offers excellent freedom of movement without compromising safety. It does this through the use of visco-elastic polymer dough that adapts to the shape of your body as you ride, but when exposed to impact it stiffens to absorb it.

Shoulder straps and an elastic waistband make sure the back protector stays comfortably in place, while 3D mesh against the back pulls perspiration away from the skin so you're comfortable and dry. The POC Spine VPD 2.0 Back protector complies to the motorcycle CE 1621-2 Level 2 standards and only comes in the color black.

    Great for skiing

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this back protector on advice of a friend last ski season. I wear it whenever I am skiing in technical terrain and not wearing a backpack. I am 6'1" and ordered a large, even know I am pretty thin, it fits just fine under my ski jackets, once i got it properly adjusted to me. It isn't too warm (no more so than a backpack) which is good for warmer ski days. Its also not very restrictive, less so than a ski backpack, allowing for freedom of motion. As for the safety of the back protector, I haven't had any real crashes to put it to the test since i bought it, but It feels like it does a a great job absorbing an impact in just playing around with it. Would recommend if you are skiing terrain that is technical enough to warrant a back protector.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It fits great and fits under my leather suit (downhill longboarding).

This is a good alternative to plastic protectors. Still protects from heavy impact but way more comfortable and lighter than previous protectors I have worn in seasons before.

Are these designed to be worn Under a jacket or is it worn over like a pack?

You can wear this either under or over your clothing. Most people usually run the vest underneath their jersey.

      Keeps ya safe.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

POC makes some of the best safety gear in the business. I love my back protector just because it makes me feel just a tad bit safer if I'm going after something with chocolate chips or just gives me a little more confidence to get er done. The material is also pretty fun to play with on its own when you're on the couch.
