Why We Like The Omne Air Spin Helmet

Whether you're out for a post-work training ride, or embarking on a weekend gravel adventure, the POC Omne Air Spin Helmet ensures you stay comfortable and protected regardless of where you ride. The EPS foam liner features optimized density with thicker core protection zones that provide all-round protection for everyday use, while ventilation channels and a low weight inspired by the award-winning Octal and Ventral helmets ensure optimal comfort and cooling on longer rides. The helmet boasts a slim profile and a clean aesthetic, and features a 360-degree size adjustment system that makes it easy to find the perfect fit.

The Omne Air Spin employs POC's SPIN rotational impact protection system. This design minimizes the traumatic forces from crashing at an oblique angle by allowing the helmet to rotate independently around your head in the case of an angled crash. Spin pads placed inside the helmet are fixed in place, but exhibit a bit of movement, which gives the helmet a bit of shear in the case of a crash. These pads are made of a silicone-based material on the bottom for extra impact mitigation, lined with traditional foam on top for sweat-wicking comfort.

This thing hates big ears

Familiarity:

Bought a size small, been wearing multiple smith overtake size small for years. The straps can?t be adjusted and pull up on my earlobes. Super uncomfortable.

Runs quite small. My other helmets are a great fit at L. The POC was hopelessly too tight.

Very bad strap returning, paying postage from my own pocket. Bad experience with POC.

STRAPS!!!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is my second POC Omne Airspin- which is why I didn?t read all the other negative reviews on the straps first. Huge bummer- these straps are way too short. Ear loops too tight. Not sure what POC changed between this version in my last, but it?s a fail.

Saved My Noggin

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I had an unfortunate incident that involved me splattered on the pavement. I smacked my head, shoulder, and knee. Head hit the pavement hard enough to crack the helmet. My knee was torn up and bleeding, my shoulder was busted, my pride was nonexistent but my head was just fine. No concussion, no soreness, just a cracked helmet that saved my little life. Have since replaced it and will never ride without a helmet.

After just 3 rides, it has a dent...

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I love this helmet. The looks, the fit... incredibly comfortable. A very good looking helmet. Feel safe wearing it. But today, on just my 3rd ride with it, I noticed a dent on the outer shell, front/right side. I have no idea how it happened. This helmet has not even made contact with any other hard surface except the passenger seat of my car (which is very soft) and/or my head. I have never fallen or had an accident. I am not sure how it happened. Quality issues of the plastic? If anyone has recommendations of what the next step is, please send my way!

Ear strap!

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Like many other reviewers, the Y of the chinstrap sits on my ears with no way to adjust. My head is 54.5 around so I was between the small and medium. I went with the small. The fit was good except for the strap problem. Otherwise it's a nice helmet but I think this is a terrible design flaw.

Larger fit

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I measure and remeasured, and looked at my old helmets to compare size. My head is 57.5-58cm any way I measure with my tailors tape. Add about a cm for a thick hat and I Bought the large (range 56-61) tightening all the way, still not going to get snug. Put skull cap on, and it?s very close to fitting, but that won?t cut it if it?s wobbling around on my bare head. Some say it runs small, I say it?s large all day. Looks great, and no problems with straps. Would fit great if I could get the correct size, but my size is sold out

Wanted to love this helmet...

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

In fact, immediately following the unboxing, I believed this helmet to be absolutely fantastic. The fit/finish and color was perfect. It initially felt wonderful on my head. Everything was amazing - until I buckled the straps. There is no vertical adjustment of the straps below the ears, resulting in the straps rubbing on my earlobes. And no hotizontal strap adjustment would make it acceptable. Unfortunately, POC didn't design this helmet with different ear sizes in mind. Its a shame, cause otherwise, the helmet is perfect.
