Almost as good as a soft landing.

Trying to double up that jump that was never meant to be doubled comes with some risk, but that’s why POC created the Joint VPD 2.0 DH Elbow Guard. It’s neither a true hard shell nor a true soft shell, but that’s why the Joint VPD is special—it’s made of a soft and flexible foam that instantly hardens on impact, so it’s comfortable to wear and can save your bacon when you find more knuckle than tranny.

In the case of the VPD 2.0, POC has also layered a thin hard shell over the foam for extra protection on the gnarliest trails. The body of the guard is made from stretchy Kevlar-reinforced fabric for bombproof abrasion resistance, and POC integrated a plethora of vents to prevent excessive sweatiness on hot summer lift laps. A combo of elastic and hook-and-loop straps keep the VPD 2.0 locked down, too, even if you find yourself flying rubber-side up just a little unexpectedly.

Is this a pair or just one guard?

Good protection

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These pads are the perfect balance of protection and comfort for me. They aren't too bulky and are fairly easy to walk in. They allow for easy adjustment to ensure a precise fit. I've taken some fairly nasty falls (none of them my fault OF COURSE!) and these have protected me well.

Great product. Looks and feels a bit bulky but offers great protection. For the most part they are really comfortable. I had a small issue with the guards slipping when they were brand new. After a couple rides they mold to your body and hold really well.

Fits perfect, although a little bit stiff when I put it on my arms. However the VPD material gets softer with the body heat after few minutes of use. The best features of this product are: Stays in place and The anti-odor treatment, no need to wash it after each use.

hey what size elbow pads did you buy and how was the fit size wise, tight, loose, or just right? thx !

Excellent

Great protection purchased for AM single track. Can wear all day even in summer heat and does not move. Several falls and so far so good, pads protected well and didn't move. Runs small.

They stay up and don't move even on the most technical descents with speed.

best protection

These are pretty bulky but if you want real protection I highly recommend them. The forearm strap does not stretch and will not allow the pad to slide up you arm as it slides through dirt and gravel (which i've done). They also stay put really well while riding. I can't beleive this is the only pad on the market w a non-stretch strap on the forearm, seems like a no brainer.

Stay in place and offer great coverage

I have always had issues finding pads that stay in place and offer good protection, usually those things don't got hand in hand, thankfully POC has stepped in and filled that void.

The first time I wore these I found them to be a bit uncomfortable but after a couple rides they broke in and actually became really comfortable.

There are a couple of things i would change, one is to have it go a bit lower on the forearm to offer a bit more protection and the other is to make them more breathable. On hot days you are hyper aware that you are wearing these pads. But those two things should not stop you from getting these, the fact that they stay in place and are so comfortable outweighs those issues.

They run kind of small so I would say if you are on the edge, go to the next size up.

Thank you! You addressed all of my questions!
