Coron Air Spin Helmet

Pursue your childhood dreams of conquering burly lines in British Columbia, climbing precarious ladders of the North Coast, and charging down faces of bedrock that protrude from the undergrowth like the ruins of ancient civilizations, but do your best to keep your wits about you with help from POC's Coron Air Spin Helmet. This full-face helmet has you covered, packing the heat when it comes to technology with EPP multi-impact foam, thick fiberglass, and POC's newly engineered Spin technology that helps dissipate and absorb rotational forces and impacts.

Th Coron Air Spin boasts a hefty combination of burly materials, style, and comfort packed into one piece. Starting with the thick fiberglass shell, the helmet absorbs impact, while the EPP foam soaks up hits to reduce transfer of energy from crashes. This combines with POC's Spin technology, which sits directly against your noggin in the form of pads that can shear in any direction during oblique impact, reducing rotational forces. The pads are all removable and washable, so after a summer scorcher you can freshen things up for the next ride. Large vents push air through the helmet via a series of internal channels that boost the level of ventilation beyond what we normally find in a full-face helmet, keeping you as cool as possible while fully covered. The chin bar gives you a shield in the event of big crashes, and adjustable vent features breakaway technology to protect the neck in case of impact.

  • A full-face helmet loaded with new POC technology
  • Spin pads rotate to dissipate oblique impacts
  • Multi-impact EPP liner absorbs big hits
  • Burly fiberglass shell protects in crashes
  • Ear chambers designed to support balance and hearing
  • Breakaway visor designed to protect neck in crash
  • Light weight with ample venting for all day wear
  • Removable pads for easy washing on hot days

Great fit and features

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

So you need a full face for hitting the lifts or just out riding something that needs a little extra protection well look no further.

The POC Coron Air Spin has a great fit, ample padding and with the ultra cool *Breakaway visor you won’t be left searching for new screws to reattach it. I will say however that with the visor being able to breakaway without breaking mounting a GoPro to it does not work very well. The visor tends to bounce a little bit from the extra weight.

I pulled up the size chart, looped the tape measure around my old noggin and it was spot on for fit. I measure out to be 57.5cm or 22.6” and the M/L fit perfect. Just tight enough in the checks to make you feel like you have a little puffer fish action going on.

Fortunately I have not crashed in it yet but I do feel with the Spin (POC’s own version of MIPS) I will have more than adequate protection. On a side note I also wear a LEATT Neck brace and had no issues with it getting in the way while riding.

Great Buy!

Lightweight, breathable, and comfortable. True to size, no break-in period. Price is also right for such a high-quality helmet. Something to consider is that the face hole is larger than many full-face helmets. However, POC goggles will fill the space nicely. Highly recommend to a friend.

Got my first laps in this helmet going downhill a run in a way the creators of this helmet probably didn't intend. But what I can say is this helmet is comfortable, breathes really well, and is super sturdy. Might be a tad bit heavier than other options but that weight instills confidence that the helmet is built to take an impact and still hold up. Can't wait to try it out biking!

Very Comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I ripped this helmet around the west desert of Utah and I loved it. Very Comfortbale and light weight, but also felt burly. I feel this helmet fits true to size as I have a 7 1/8 hat size and I wore a Medium Large. It felt snug, but also comfortable. The Spin Technology is so great for the rotational aspect of the helmet.

This helmet may have saved my life!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I crashed at an enduro race and fell a few feet at a high speed directly on my head. I struck a rock garden, and compression fractured my thorasic spine, broke ribs, and a transverce process, but my head was fine. I was tesed for concusions and a CT scan showed no extensive damage. I credit this amazing helmet with preventing any other damages form occuring to my head. Though the helmet is now brorken and needs to be replaced, my brain is fine and I am lucky to have had this helmet. This helmet was also super comfortable and looks amazing. But in my mind, the protection for this helmet speeks for itself.

Pretty Cool

THe POC Coron is an awesome helmet and this year they made the technology better with their Air Spin liner. They also added a few more vents in comparison to last years coron as well. But there are a few major downsides when comparing this model to last years...Last years gets you 2 sets of cheek pads to dial in fitment, this only offers one set per size, last years also offers a real helmet bag for transport this only offers a helmet sock. Fit and finish is as amazing as last years but I like the matte paint they used on last years model...still awesome lid just missing a few features from the previous years.

    Great Product

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The M/L is just a tiny bit tighter than a Large Troy Lee Designs D3 and its a tiny bit looser than a medium Troy Lee Designs D3. Personally it fits me better than the TLD. 100% goggles fit the helmet perfect. The build quality and materials seem really good so far. I seem to get less sweaty than I did in my Troy Lee D3 so it might ventilate better. Seems fairly light. Overall this is a great helmet, one of the best on the market.

    Coverage you need.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this helmet when riding the lifts, DH races, and anything where I need more coverage than a half-shell. It's light and I love wearing it because of the ventilation, my head doesn't sweat too bad!
