PinarelloTour Bib Short - Men's

Top bottoms.

If we were to pick two names to define the height of Italian cycling, it'd be Pinarello and Giordana. With the Tour Men's Bib Shorts, the two Mediterranean giants have combined forces, imbuing the race-kit know-how of the latter with the pedigree of the former. The Tour Bibs are a race-oriented model, imbued with all of the finishing and fit details of professional kit. Pinarello goes so far as to claim that they'll "have you riding like a pro." While we can't vouch for any watts-per-kilogram increase, these bottoms' top-level construction certainly won't hold you back.

The Tour's race-day secret lies in its fabrics and fit. This starts at your engine, with a heavyweight Lycra (that Pinarello styles Legend) wrapping the thighs in a compressive-yet-elastic cocoon that helps to reduce energy lost to stabilization so your watts are more purely dedicated to propulsion. The inner thigh and seat are reinforced with a high-stretch, anti-abrasion material to ensure free motion without flapping and lengthen the bibs' lifespan, and the upper panels are made from a more supportive, carbon-laced material to help your core stay fresh for the finishing sprint.

Upstairs, the lie-flat Lo Pro 0 bib straps will be familiar to any Giordana fans, as they're also featured on the brand's peerless FR-C bibs. The straps conspire with six generous centimeters of 190E leg bands in order to preserve fit and keep the Cirro OmniForm chamois—another common sight on the top shelf of Giordana's catalogue—in place.

Great fit if your long leg short torso

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XL

I read the one post and can see where it was not a fit for him. First is there a very snug fit as they are ment to be. Am 6,2 190lb and 36 " inseam so they fit me great not lose fit around leg. Shoulder straps are a little tite but that keeps them in place. I like a compression fit short as most my ride are over 3 hours. Great shammy and light but strong material. Would not put them in top load washer and I will be hand washing them.

Strange Fit

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Size Bought: Medium

Purchased these on sale for the Giordana chamois. The only way to describe the fit is odd. The fit was tight through the legs and waist, but that was to be expected based on the size and brand. The straps were short to the point I considered exchanging for a larger size. The problem with that is there is almost no taper to the leg grippers. While they are tight almost to the point of being uncomfortable at the seam around the leg, they gap at the bottom. I also found the seams to be a bit scratchy.

The positives of this bib are the compressive fit in areas other than the gripper and the top notch chamois.

Since the circumference is already too large at the bottom, I assume a larger size would only exacerbate the problem. As a result, I will be returning and purchasing something else.
