Pearl Izumi Sugar Thermal Tights - Women's

Sugar sugar.

There are techier tights than the Pearl Izumi Sugar Women's Thermal Tights, but there might not be a more versatile bottom out there. They come without a chamois, so you can wear them running, hiking, and working out, and then layer your favorite summer shorts underneath them when you jump on the bike.

The blend of polyester and elastane wicks moisture and breathes well while providing just enough insulation for mild weather — Pearl recommends them for temperatures between 55 and 65 degrees — and uses an anatomically-minded six-panel design to support your muscles without inhibiting your movement. Reflective elements help you make it home safely, and the seven-inch ankle zipper helps you slide the Sugar easily on and off before and after your ride.

Gets the job done

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Kept my legs nice a toasty on several occasions this mid-Atlantic winter. While I am happy for the temperatures to warm up, these did me just nicely as a second layer in temps down to 30 degrees.
