P.R.O. Barrier WxB MTB Shoe Cover

With the advent of plus-sized tires and fatbikes, the sloppy trails of early spring are no longer totally off limits. Pearl Izumi's PRO Barrier WxB MTB Shoe Covers are built for damp, chilly days, so pull them on and hit the muck. Well, not only them. Considering that their wind- and water-resistant face keeps the weather out and their midweight insulation keeps heat in, they pair well with a light winter jacket and gloves for soggy March romps. Opting for heavier socks (or just doubling up) push them deeper into winter; we've worn these puppies on rides in the mid-30s when properly insulated.

XL doesn't fit a size 8 shoe

Size XL isn't even close to fitting a size 8 trail bike shoe.

Just like Goldilocks

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased these in S, M, & L for my X-ALP Elevate Cycling Shoe size 38. When the S arrived, I knew just by looking at it, it would never fit. The M might, but I'd have to stretch it out to get a good fit. I tried the L - Screaming Yellow. Perfect! Fits snugly around my heel and the velcro fits together nicely with no gaps. Went for a short ride in 42F degree temperatures. Christmas Eve. Kept my feet nice and comfortable. Runs small - I sized up one shoe size.

Runs small!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I struggle to get the XXL on my size 48 shoes. I won't need to ride, I'll get my exercise putting on these shoe covers. I am worried I will tear them putting them on. Hopefully they will stretch a bit over time. I have not used these shoe covers yet. I can't leave them on around the heel and still remove my shoes like my Garneau Neo Protect II shoe covers, which I ruined by sweeping broken glass off the road with my feet. The reinforcement on the bottom and around the edges is much sturdier than the Garneau. If you are riding on the road, the more visible you are the longer you will live. Buy all your road cycling gear in bright neon colors. You do want to live, right?

They get the job done.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

They get the job done but they run a little small by this size guide I was a L and they just barely fit. I'd be careful of you are on the top end of a size but otherwise I recommend.

Runs Small

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Seems to be quality but I couldn't get it on my shoe. I got the XL and my shoes are us 11.5, I couldn't close the shoe covers, they definitely run small

tested at the Iceman

Conditions were pretty bad this year with fresh single track and lots of mud! This was the first use for these covers and they worked fairly well. I did accumulate some mud under one but they are meant for riding ? Not walking in mud. A good product overall! Kept my feet warm in cold temps. Ans: quite durable material... Thick enough but still flexible...
