Low-cut comfort.

While we've largely migrated to synthetic blends with unpronounceable multisyllabic names, the Pearl Izumi Elite Low Wool Sock serves as a nice reminder of why wool reigned supreme in the early peloton.

Immediately, you'll notice two things about these low-cut socks: they provide higher levels of comfort than synthetic or cotton blends and they breathe just as well. The top is ventilated for extra breathability on hot summer rides without being too open and airy for cool-weather rides. Other key features include Pearl's arch supporting compression and flat toe box for a smooth, non-irritating feel.

Feel the Breeze!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

When I first started riding with these socks, I instantly noticed a different feel. The blended wool construction of this sock makes it so breathable, you can actually feel the cooling evaporation on your feet while you ride! I wear a men's 8.5 in Pearl Izumi cycling shoes, and the Medium fit just perfectly and very true to size. The mid foot compression is a little tighter than some comparable socks, and feels very comfortable. The compression keeps the sock from sliding around on the foot.

After riding with a pair of these socks for two seasons, I have recently purchased two more pairs and will make this my first option for cycling.

Pros: Lightweight, Breathable, Durable, Mid Foot Compression.
Con: Not thick enough for early spring, late fall or winter rides.

Killer sock!

Wool is not just for warmth. I wear these all summer, and are my go to sock. They are soo comfortable, and I have yet to put a hole in them, which I wish I could say for most of my other bike socks.
