Every little bit helps.

Made of Pearl Izumi's proven, element-proof Barrier Lite P.R.O. lightweight fabric blend with a super-tough Kevlar-reinforced bottom, the Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Barrier Lite Shoe Covers not only keep your feet dry and protected from the wind, they also aid in aerodynamics, reducing drag over the drag-heavy shoes that most of us wear. Because hey, every little bit helps.

  • Pearl Izumi's thinnest, lightest, most aero shoe cover
  • Fabric provides lightweight wind and water protection
  • Wind tunnel tested for optimal aerodynamics
  • Zippered heel closure for improved fit
  • Recommended for road shoes with external cleats

Great shoe covers.

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Ex-Large.

I have always used these for certain conditions. When it’s too cold for plain uncovered shoes these work really well. Provides wind protection and some moisture protection. Makes riding more comfortable on days when temps are in the 40’s. While these are not waterproof they do keep some water out and feet protected. Downside is they don’t s last for years but at least they’re not expensive. They do trap some moisture inside when you’re making harder efforts and sweating. But I’d rather be warm. Ex-Large fits over a 45 shoe. Gotta work at getting them on but worth it.

Great shoe cover

These are great for cold damp weather as well as rain gear. Nice and snug, stretches over my specialized 43 shoes with o problem.

    Understand their purpose...

Purpose/application: These lite booties will provide protection in cool and/or windy conditions down to about 50* (temp sensitivity is individual). Also for aerodynamics (e.g., time trial). Also fantastic for visibility (hi-viz yellow) in cloudy, low-light conditions.

These are great, but Pearl Izumi does NOT claim these are waterproof (on their website). The seam is not even taped. These will provide a little help on wet roads after a rain (hence, "barrier lite"). But if you ride in these in full-on rain, your feet will be soaked.

If you will be riding in colder temps (40's) or in significant rain, I highly recommend using a warmer and more water-resistant bootie such as Pearl's "PRO Barrier WxB" or Castelli's Tempesta.

Sizing: Follow the size chart. I wear a 45 euro in Sidi and Shimano. The XL is the correct size.

Note: The top material is coated with polyurethane for stretchiness (aerodynamics). It is a little delicate. Take care putting these on.

      Definitely tight, so order big.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: large

I like these covers and on a cool morning or wetish ride, they are fantastic. Very "cat woman" like in the fit.

      Kept my feet dry

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large

It took quite a while and a lot of stretching to get these over my cycling shoes, but they did keep my feet dry on a very rainy, wet, and windy 66 miles ride.. However, they were pretty much ruined by the end of the day by just the short time walking in them during stops.

      Does Exactly As It Should

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: Extra Large

These covers do exactly as they should. They're essentially a wind breaker for your feet. Coupled with some good Merino Wool socks I've used them when the temperatures plunge into the mind 40's comfortably. I'm yet to really use them in the rain, but I suspect they'll keep me nice and dry. I wear Bont Vaypors in a size 10 with Speedplay Zeros and got XL's. They fit snuggly but are fairly stretchy. Take your time putting them on and you won't have an issue with tearing them.

      Useful but fragile

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: XL

I bought these primarily for aero benefit but they can be useful in wet weather. I would not consider them truly waterproof because water can get into the shoe via the sole which has an opening for a pedal cleat. My size XL fits fairly snugly over an older pair of Shimano size 44.5 road shoes. I doubt that the size XL would fit anything much larger than 44.5. I have not found anything better for use in cool weather so I recently bought a second pair to replace the first one.
What I don't like about the shoe covers is that they are too easy to tear. So far the soles have held up well but it is really easy to tear the stretchy fabric of the uppers while pulling them on over riding shoes. I have used so much Tenacious Tape to patch my original pair that parts of the fabric have more tape than original material.
For this price I would have expected something a bit sturdier.

      Small

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

This runs small so if you're a 10+ get the XXL
