We turn to the Tres 3-in-1 Parka when winter can’t make up its mind—because this system handles everything from cold rain to deep freezes with ease. Patagonia pairs a fully waterproof H2No Performance Standard shell with a lofty 700-fill down liner jacket, giving us three ways to stay protected: a standalone shell for wet weather, a standalone puffer for dry cold, or both combined for full winter coverage.

The insulated liner uses Pertex Quantum recycled ripstop for lightweight warmth, while the outer shell blocks wind and precipitation with a smooth, durable construction and PFC-free DWR finish. The removable hood adds customizable coverage depending on conditions, and the longer cut increases warmth on frigid commutes. Two sets of hand pockets—one on each layer—keep essentials close and fingers warm regardless of which configuration we’re wearing.
