This jacket has proven to be quite versatile. Patagonia's H2No keeps you totally dry in a rainstorm. Expecting rain on your backpacking trip? No worries! The entire jackets packs down into the Kangaroo pocket for easy storage.

4 years strong and still keeping me dry

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

I've had mine for 4 years and it's still going strong. It's kept me dry in the strongest downpours. Breathes well enough that even in hot, muggy weather I won't start to sweat at all. Hood cinches down for a secure fit when winds start to whip and the little brim keeps rain off of your face. Layers well over a midlayer. True to Patagonia's sizing.

lightweight.

Very lightweight jacket--significantly lighter than previous models... Seems as though PTG has skimped on this garment.

Excellent Gear

Have used it in a Smokies photography workshop. Well-made, waterproof, perfect fit (L for me). Would gladly purchase another when time to replace this one.

Wasn't sure about the jacket at first but after wearing it a few times I fell in love. Great water proofing and made well to keep you dry no matter what kind of rain hits you. This is my go to light rain jacket.

Thanks for the review Blake! Glad you are stoked on the jacket!

Layer with nano or by itself

Awesome light weight jacket to layer with the Patagonia nano puff. I layer over the puff for rain or wear by itself. The nano is not water proof so this lightweight shell is essential. Love layer up. Highly recommend

    Awesome rain jacket!

I've been hiking through the white mountains in New Hampshire for the past week. This rain jacket has been covering me for 7 days of nonstop rain and has done an amazing job! Keeping me dry and warm out here on the Appalachian Trail!

Whether a light sprinkle or downpour the torrentshell has you covered. Patagonia has exceeded expectations once again with this jacket. The fit is perfect, performance unparalleled, and stylish as hell. I am very picky about how the hoods on jackets fit. This jacket's hood fits perfect. Great buy!

      Great Jacket

Costa Rica has 8 months of rain and this jacket never let me down. A bit hot sometimes but great deal.

Thanks for the review Manrique! Happy that you are stoked on your Torrentshell!

      Anorak of old

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I bought this for my Father in law who loves pull over rain jackets. He is 6'4'' and 230 and the XL fit him perfectly. He wanted a nice pullover rain jacket with a kangaroo pouch and this fit the bill. Good colors, good quality and he's very happy. I personally own the torrentshell in the full zip and they're a great jacket that has stood the test of time.

Second Torrentshell and just as great!!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small

I bought my first torrentshell many, many years ago and it really was worn ragged but held up great. It was a zip up and I still have it but wanted a pullover that could fold up small and pack easily. This is the jacket!! I stay completely dry even in extremely wet conditions. I pair with my R2 fleece underneath for cold and wet conditions and could not be happier!

      Great Shell

Super lightweight, with great stitching, which helps for both wind and rain resistance.
Works really good for layering systems, also I lie the front pocket a lot, which is super functional. I can store my map and compass in there, as well as other items that I'd want to have while on trail, or for short breaks.
It's a great layer, and pretty stylish, which is always a plus to have in the backcountry.
You know want to look good so you can feel good, and perform good!
GREAT jacket for the price point.
      Super durable.

Fits just slightly larger than normal, but I wouldn't say it runs large.

      Love It!!

This is an awesome shell for winter weather. It keeps me warm and very dry.

      Can't go wrong with Patagonia

Got this to replace an anorak that was falling apart. Haven't used a ton yet but so far so good. I trust the Patagonia name and can't wait to use this more.

      Great waterproof layer!

Gave this jacket as a gift:

This jacket is awesome, lightweight and easy to carry along on hikes and while camping. Plan to wear it around town and to-and-from work, but its perfect for those active outdoorsy adventures too when the weather may be spotty.

      Great Coat

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large

Bought it for the fall/spring months, great for when I go hiking and camping; and great for walking across campus. It's light enough to shove in a backpack and carry around all day, but keeps the wind out. Haven't had any issues with water getting in either, and I've worn it in some real downpours. Stylish to boot. 10/10
