Blocks the cold air

This is a nice jacket to wear in the cold and wind. The jacket material blocks the cold wind from coming through keeping you warm. I get extra discount from here: coupon-code.info

    Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

With aggressive use and abhorrent lack of maintenance I would like to make a disclaimer as to the treatment of my jacket. Having effectively created a worst case scenario for my shell, I have unsurprisingly noticed a loss of impermeability. The material is hardwearing, boasting virtually no visible damage after years of abuse. However, the same can be said for my various Gore-Tex jackets, which have outperformed Patagonia’s H2NO under the same conditions. At a lower price point it bridges the gap between urban apparel and outdoor shells, but if you error on the side of extreme you might want to spend the extra bucks.

    Clammy & Odd Sizing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: XL

I typically wear an XL in everything Patagonia, but I am drowning in this jacket. I tried a large, and it was too tight in the shoulders and short in the sleeves, so there is no right size for me in this jacket. It also gets super clammy with mild exertion, which I expected with the white spray on coating. I will try an actual Gore Tex lined jacket next. I am keeping the jacket, as it will be a decent emergency shell to keep in the car and use over a puffy jacket (yes, it's that large).

    A True Rain Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

This is a legit Rain Jacket. I wore it for a couple of weeks when I was visiting my home state of Minnesota. I wore it out on the lake while fishing and while going on a hike in the woods during light showers and straight-up downpours. This jacket kept me dry in all types of rain and I didn't overheat while hiking.

    Fits true to size

    • Size Bought: Large

Very well made and nice looking

    Great Warm Weather Rain Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M

My last one of these was a fav mostly because of the color (orange) but this one looks great and is a bit more functional with the hood adjustment. It's great jacket to go to when the weather gets dicey. If they were still making an orange jacket...

Nice light-rain jacket but with a flaw

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

Made out of breathable nylon and H2No material looks like it can hold the rain and wind at bay, so not only a rain gear item but also a stylish windbreaker. which is where Patagonia lost the high marks. The hood storage with a string and hook is poorly designed (it unfolds as you move), and the way the collar looks with the hood stored leaves a lot to be desired, it exposes the H2No white plastic looking material in part of the collar, which makes the jacket look cheap, and unstylish that cannot be utilized as a classy or stylish windbreaker. The whole collar needs to be fleeced with a soft material (ideally with the same color of the jacket), and the hood needs to be redesigned similar to the North Face Resolve 2 jacket which looks really nice when the hood is stowed securely and nicely. in the back of the jacket, without affecting the look of the collar, which allows it to be worn as a windbreaker. As far as fit, it fits well to the contours of my body, and since I have a 44 chest and around 6 feet, the jacket fits me like a glove without been too tight, and still with room to wear either my Micro-puff or Better Sweater as layer on those very cold and rainy days. I recommend it if you want solely a rain jacket on the trail, but this piece does not transition at all from the backcountry to the city at all. The collar is weird and not presentable at all in an urban setting. I hope it gets redesigned, because it does an injustice to the rest of the jacket.

    Great looking and functional jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

Never bought a Patagonia product that I didn't like. This is a good looking jacket that fit just right and serves the purpose protecting against the rain. Highly recommend.

Holding up still! But could be better

Idk if I run too hot and just sweat too much, but I had the mountain hardwear ghost (great until it lost its water proofing) to a marmot precip (two summers of great use then took on water). Now this has t leaked at all, the vents are good, I’m just always feeling sticky inside of rain jackets. Very packable

      bomber!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL

Jacket is great, has the coveted pit zips. drove through a rainstorm on a fourwheeler with it on and no problems, dry as can be. Typical patagonia boxier fit so I usually wear an XL but would have gone with Large instead.

Perfect rain jacket for smaller people!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XS

It's hard finding clothes that are fitting to my size- but this is perfect!

      Great Jacket

This is just what I want!! I am totally satisfied with this jacket.

        Dry in all day rain

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Small

I have ridden all day in the rain with this jacket and it has kept me dry. Inexpensive, functional and long lasting. A truly great product.

        very nice.

color looks very good. and Delivery was very fast

        Plain Jane Rain

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Medium

I got this for a lightweight packable rain jacket for day hiking. I have seen this item in the Patagonia line forever, and always thought it was not technical enough to spend the money on. I am very pleasantly surprised at both fit and function, and especially the attention to the little details that make it an incredibly wearable piece. It is way more jacket than I thought it was.

2nd one and still love it!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Small

I had the pullover version of this jacekt for about 5 years and it performed exceptionally. I put it through the wringer during a couple years of guiding and it kept me dry the whole time despite becoming filthy. Great jacket for backpacking, climbing and everyday wear. The pit zips are an awesome feature that I didn't have on the pullover, The regular fit is great for layering a fleece underneath in the cool spring temps. The hood can be cinched up to fit your head like a hat that will move with you when you're looking around and not impede your vision. Not as windproof as other shells but it does help block cool breezes a little bit. All around a great jacket, I'm stoked to put my new one through the wringer too!

        Essential Rain Jacket

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Small

This is a solid rain jacket. It is light and packs down small, so it is perfect to throw in your backpack when hiking even if you aren't expecting rain. I have the pullover version of this jacket too, which I like, but I wanted a jacket that I could also zip up. I actually prefer the men's fit of this jacket, as it is a little longer. Plus the colors are way better

        Great rain jacket!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Small

On a recent snowshoe excursion, my Marmot precip went from a waterproof shell to a soaked shell in dumping powder conditions. So no bueno. I needed a new rain shell STAT.
I’ve loved Patagonia swag for over three decades, but my current crush is all things Arcteryx. But that girl is outta my league. So, back to the faithful Patagonia product and I wasn’t disappointed. Great price point for the performance and the jacket withstood some powerful recent rainstorms in NorCal. And the color is awesome. Would buy again.
