PatagoniaSnowshot Jacket - Men's

Protection from the pow.

Patagonia's Men's Snowshot Jacket offers a progressive, freeride fit for superior comfort and mobility when you rip up the park, charge through powder, or drop into fresh steeps. The fabric package includes a burly, H2No Performance Standard two-layer shell for a waterproof, breathable barrier between you and the snowy slopes. And a DWR finish keeps you dry when you fly through mucky weather. Light polyester mesh lines the body and sleeves for a smooth glide over layers. Articulated arms allow you to move naturally, and underarm zips provide a quick-venting option when you work up steam. Weather-sealing features include a removable, two-way adjustable, helmet-compatible hood with a laminated visor to keep snow out of your face. Soft microfleece panels protect your neck and chin from wind blasts. The low-profile powder skirt has a webbing loop that connects to any Patagonia snow pant to provide an always-ready seal when you're in the deep.

Great Shell

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XXL

This is an awesome shell jacket. I've had trouble finding a shell that fits well length wise. This is the perfect length and fit with room for layering. I have only skied twice with it, but I have been impressed so far.

The best in 2L!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

Went for the snowshot this year because I have had plenty of success wearing 2L in lightweight mountain west snow (probably would've gone something 3L if I was spending the winter in Tahoe or the North West) , and have yet to be disapointed! Have had the opportunity to test in heavy, wet snow conditions

Snowshot Jacket

Nice, heavy weight shell. Fits big

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I love this jacket, but it had to go back. It's huge. Previous reviewer agrees (baggy fit) and I'm not a "baggy fit" dude. But for some reason BC summary says "fits small." Nice materials. Big pit zips, nice zippers, good pocket layout. Minus 1 star because it's treated, not Gore-tex.

BUT... it fits like a huge potato sack. At 5'9" and 175. I'm pretty reliably a Medium- 40R suit coat off the rack, every time. I'm a little beefy by adventure sport standards so some M t-shirts fit me like a sausage casing. But I'm swimming in this jacket. I know it's a "layering piece" but I could put on 8 bulky sweaters under this thing. With my luck the small will be too small. Hopefully not.

Well made, patagonia ethics and BC low cost. STOKED! Baggy fit.
