Put the odds in your favor.

Forget paper and scissors, rock always wins when you're climbing in the Patagonia Women's RPS Rock Pant. The lightweight stretch fabric moves with you and won't weigh you down or make you feel stuffy, and they're equipped with a DWR coating that repels light moisture in case it starts to drizzle during a multi-pitch climb. The gusseted crotch enhances range of motion, and the adjustable cuffs can be cinched up when the rock starts to heat up in the midday sun.

  • Durable nylon fabric has water-resistant coating for protection
  • Regular fit enables easy movement
  • Adjustable waist gives you a customized fit
  • Multitude of pockets bring along all the necessities
  • Adjustable cuffs help cinch out the elements

Not stretchy enough for any activity

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 4

Love the color and the style, except that they don’t really stretch. If I’m standing still they fit perfect. If I try to high step, they are very restrictive and the backside is nearing plumbers crack territory if I squat or sit down. I bought these for climbing and I can’t even really take a comfortable walk in them. I’m not super curvy. My hips are 35” and I’m only 5’2” tall at 123lbs. Sadly had to return these. Like other people have mentioned, I wish that they had more stretch around the hips and thighs and crotch area.

Large waist, slim legs

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 8

I purchased size 6 and size 8 to try on, but ended up sizing up to an 8 for more thigh room, utilizing the waist strap. The thighs (as the other reviews mention) are quite tight, so definitely recommend sizing up for easier high steps and wide leg moves. Unfortunately, that trade-off makes the pants look more baggy. For reference, I wear a size 4 in OR Ferrosi Pants. The fabric is thin (in a good way!) but not as abrasion resistant as you'd expect - on day 1 at an indoor climbing gym, I was surprised to see that I wore a few small holes into the pocket . In high heat / high sweat env's, it will visibly soak through, but it dries quickly & the fabric feels fresh! All in all, I still think the OR Ferrosi's will be my go-to, but these make a solid backup!

big waist, slim legs

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 0

I'm 5'0", 105 lbs and I struggle finding climbing pants that aren't huge (in length and overall size). The XS fits but not as well as I would like... The waist is loose but the waist adjuster helps with that quite nicely. The thighs are slimmer than expected with not as much stretch in the crotch. After climbing in them twice, the material stretched some to make it more comfy but high steps felt a little tight. I also wish the rise was higher but didn't find it as annoying under a harness as I expected. There could be improvements but overall, I like them and find them flattering

So close!

  • Size Bought: 6

Bought these for my other half, here are her thoughts
"Pros - love the fit of these pants and how they look on! I really like the blue color (although it is a little scrubs pants blue) as well as the functionality and design of the pocket. Lovvve the cinch bottom! I was expecting them to be lower rise and they were so, no surprises for me there (thanks to other reviewers!)
Cons - my only issue with these pants is that they aren't quite stretchy enough around the thighs. I can get some pretty high feet while climbing in them but I do have to pull them up a little manually to find the largest part of the leg. I really with Patagonia would have sewn a stretchier material in the thigh/crotch part. There is an extra piece there so I would be been amazing if they used a little more stretch for that part. Overall, really love these pants"

Almost perfect pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 4

My only complaints about this pant are that I wish they were a stretchier material and maybe a little bit more higher-waisted. The waist sits pretty low and they're a little tight in the butt, which isn't super convenient for hiking and climbing. Other than that, these pants are awesome and super functional. Thigh pockets are hard to come by in women's pants, as well as the cinche-able cuffs. These pants are super comfortable, durable, and weather resistant, and I couldn't ask for much more than that!

Slim cut, swishy material

Love the low rise and no belt loops. Fits about 1/2 size too small. The material is super light, but it was too swishy/ noisy for me, and too fitted in the rear, but nice and loose in the legs. I’d prefer if it had some cotton in the material. Also, the ‘classic navy’ is more of a jewel blue.

    So flexible and durable!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8

These pants are more durable than they look they are super comfotable! One awesome feature is the bottom of the pant have a draw sting wich is super helpful to keep you pant leg out of the way while climbing. All around great climbing pants!

    Light and great fit

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large

These pants are all that you hope when you buy Patagucci. They fit perfect and make you feel as if you are happily naked in the wild. The light weight but tough fabric keeps you moving through your moves without worry about tearing your clothes. Whether climbing or hiking or frolicking in the desert these pants are a must!

    Light and great fit

    Perfect!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 4

These pants are amazing. Not only do they come in a fabulous color, pink, they fit me perfectly. Patagonia's pants consistently fit better than any other brand I have purchased as they are one of the few that do not give you diaper butt. Their pants are quite fitted, but that doesn't restrain your movement while climbing. I wouldn't say they run small, but they are not a loose fit so it depends on how you like your pants. I have long lean legs (more of a runner's build) so the size is pretty accurate for me. They also seem to be pretty durable as I've used them climbing outdoors on a few occasions and have not seen any wear & tear yet!

    Perfect pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Excellent quality, it is lightweight, and very good for travel or safari

    beautiful and flattering for everyday

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got it for an upcoming hiking trip in Chille and wanted to give it a run before I pack it . It fits awesome, true to size and flattering for every day use too. It looks like it will withstand serious hiking and will not feel too bulky . True to size.

    Great climbing pant

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I am usually a size 0 or a size 2 depending on the size of the legs, but I went with the size 0 on these and they fit great.

I really love these pants and would wear them every day if I could. I like to climb in pants, even when it's warm out and these pants are super light and breathable on warm days.

I even wear these pants with a pair of long underwear on colder days in the mountains when in the alpine I love them so much.

    Love these pants!

I bought these pants for climbing and everyday wear. Though I just received them in the mail, the pants seem super durable!

      All day Everyday

Love them! I could and will be wearing these pants on the daily. Comfort great, they stay cool on hot days and keep me dry when a little rain comes by.

        How to Measure:
Measurements refer to body size, not garment dimensions. For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
        Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
        Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
        Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
        Inseam:
Inseam will vary depending on style; when lengths are offered, "short" is 30, "regular" is 32 and "long" is 33. Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
