Powder Bowl Insulated Jacket

For days when the snow is just too good to stay home, there's the Patagonia Men's Insulated Powder Bowl Jacket. Constructed from a tough two-layer Gore-Tex shell, this jacket provides durable protection from wind and precipitation while still remaining breathable. A DWR finish sloughs snow and drizzle in wet storms to keep you dry and comfortable all day. Body-mapped Thermogreen synthetic insulation provides a layer of warmth for single-digit days, without weighing you down or making it difficult to move.

Patagonia equipped the Powder Bowl with mountain-specific features for optimal use. The removable, helmet-compatible hood is two-way adjustable and has a laminated visor for optimal visibility in poor conditions. A tall collar protects your neck and face from freezer burn, even when the hood is down. Underarm zippers provide ventilation for quick heat release after a strenuous run. For deep days, you can cinch the powder skirt for a tight seal that keeps snow out, so you can chase powder all day.

  • Insulated hardshell for powder days at the resort
  • Gore-Tex provides breathable waterproof protection
  • Body mapped insulation offers reliable wet weather warmth
  • Adjustable cuffs, hood, and powder skirt keep the snow out
  • Watertight zippers and fully sealed seams lock out moisture
  • Zippered vents let you dump heat when you're skiing hard
  • Plenty of pockets for snacks, phone, trail map, and pass
  • Regular fit leaves room for layers on the most frigid days

Great Jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: L

After much deliberation, and help from the staff here, I went with this jacket.

I have a long torso, and long arms, so finding a winter jacket (or most fleeces, etc.) that I can fit into comfortably with a base layer is challenging. This did not disappoint.

It is warm and perfect for the snowy/icy weather up here in Boston.

I wear a L in other Patagonia products as well.

Want one for myself now!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

I gave this as a gift but want one now! Just taking it out of the bag you can tell it is quality. If this jacket was on a dating app I would definitely swipe right.
As a side note, it is a heavy jacket. If you are looking for a jacket to do some dope skiing, snowboarding, or tear it up on the sledding slopes then this is your jacket!

Initial impressions, gave as gift

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

This jacket seems very well made and substantial. It doesn't feel cheap by any stretch. The jacket fits well, if not a little large, but that extra size will be welcome on cold days with numerous under layers. The blue color is much brighter in person than on BC or Patagonia website for Balkan Blue; it is more similar to the women's blue color in the same jacket. Big downside is the lack of mesh in the pit vents. Why, Patagonia, why? But that is probably my only dislike so far.
