Typical Patagonia

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Medium

Typical Patagonia - in every way. Overall, love the dress, great color, pattern, fabric and silhouette, but I am a bit underwhelmed by the fit.

The fabric is perfect for summer, soft and cool to the touch, definitely wrinkle resistant and fast drying. Perfect for site-seeing by day into a dinner out. It's also a slightly thicker fabric, dense, so feels like a substantial dress. (I really hate thin, cheap fabrics where the dress feels more like a night gown.) I purchased the Navy combo which is exactly as pictured. And I'm in love with the pattern, it's interesting and sophisticated.

Minor fit complaints. I wear size S / M tops and size M / L bottoms, so this silhouette is just right for me. I purchased the medium and found it to be a bit big all around, my chest is too small to really fill out the top. And with the wide neck opening, I'm cautious leaning over. I also found the straps loosen up on their own throughout the day, likely from the weight of the dress relative to their thickness. The length is just right, and overall fit on me is pretty similar to the model.

Bottom line, this dress is really comfortable and really nice looking for a casual summer sundress. The fit issues are minor for me, i'll continue to love this piece all summer long!

Too big

I'm a size 2, 5'5" and unfortunately, the small was too big for me.

Unanswered Question

What are the care instructions for this dress? Will it shrink, and how much?

LOVE!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

One of my favorite Patagonia Dresses! I didn't have the same issues with the chest portion of the dress as Rachael did, but I am a bit taller, 5'6, and wear a 34B. Fabric is awesome, love the pockets and the print/color is perfect for summer!

Love this dress - but does it love me?

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

I really wanted to love this dress. I just don't know if it loves me back. First, I got a medium but it was WAY too big for me. Then, I downsized to a small. Fits much much better. The only complaint I have with it, is that the chest just does not work for me. The joint where the straps met the dress on my chest stick out, and do not lay flat on my chest like the picture shows (I have a DD so it's not like I am not full enough - maybe too full?). I have tried to adjust it multiple times to see if it goes away, and the only time it does is when I adjust the dress by pulling down on it (annoying). But the fabric is amazing, the pockets are amazing, the flow of the dress is so adorable. Need to decide further if the price is worth the annoyance? UPDATE: I have decided to return this dress - although I wanted to love it and it love me, we were not a match. The next size down (small) didn't help with my issues, and it is not worth the price to me. Goodbye, lost wildflower dress!

thanks for taking the time to let us know. It is really cute.
