  • Relaxed fit
  • Reach-through chest utility pockets
  • Hidden hemostat holder

I wear these year round.

This is my all time favorite shirt. One of the only shirts Patagonia makes that will fit if you have broad shoulders.

Good pockets, great venting.

Five stars if they would make it in all cotton. Synthetics smell badly after any wear. I don't care what they say about fabric treatments, shirts with plastic in them don't smell good for long.

Purchased 2 of them.

I just used for a vacation with multiple island traveling. Held up well to hiking & did an excellent job of keeping the sun off.

    Great shirt

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I buy about 2 of these island hopper style shirts a year in various colors/patterns, long and short sleeve. They are incredibly durable and I am still wearing one from 2007. Looks good with waders and at business casual meetings/dinner.

Latest version of this shirt not for me

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I've been using Patagonia Island Hopper shirts for years, for hiking, sightseeing, and evening wear.
What has been special to me is the roominess of the shirt, but especially its good looks and amazingly fresh look after washing in a sink and hanging overnight.
Trips to Europe, Africa, around the U.S. and this was the easiest shirt to wear day and night, looking unwrinkled with its good blend of cotton and polyester.
A few years ago, a change in the shirt made it a little wrinkled after a sink wash and overnight hang, but still good looking day or night on the town.
This newest Island Hopper version, with UV protection, is an entirely different shirt. If you like the wrinkled look while traveling, this is a good shirt for you.
It is sadly, after a decade of buying, not a shirt I'd buy again for my kind of travel, as I do not like to iron or pay for a hotel's cleaners.
I used to buy large size and liked the extra room and the fit looked good, but after losing weight, I purchased a medium. It is a snug fit but at my new weight, like the fit and believe it true to size, as Island Hopper has been looser than other shirts in the Patagonia line.

    Weird Fit and Design

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium

The fit for this is really strange. I LOVE Patagonia products and they usually fit great. This is baggy under the armpits and across the chest. It also has a strange breast design, with slots and stitching. You can kind of see it in the picture. But, not your typical Patagonia fit or style.

    Weird fit

I had to order an XL because I am 6'5". I have previous versions of this shirt that fit perfectly. However, this one was very snug in the shoulders and had a boxy fit around the stomach. I thought the colors and feel of the fabric were great, but I had to return it.

      Fish on, beer on.

Perfect for all day adventures. Whether you are fly fishing the rivers of the west or island hopping as this shirts name suggests, you will be comfortable all day long. This shirt is stylish both on and off the water, which means you can go right from the river to your second favorite watering hole. Even better the massive chest pockets and hemostat holder means you can bring all your necessary fishing items on you without having to lug a vest or pack with you. You will definitely catch the biggest fish of your life wearing this shirt...

        Great shirt

I can never say enough good things about this product. The fit and quality is always spot on.
