Use this every time I ski

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

not much to be said here, very comfortable thin base layers, fit is right on.

Thin and Warm

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these as a gift for my brother who tore his ACL a few years ago and wears a knee brace while skiing. He wanted a super thin baselayer that he could comfortably wear under his brace, and he loves these! They're thin enough to fit under his brace without being too tight and still super warm.

Exactly what I was looking for

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought these as a lightweight layer on colder days under my pants or even to use when on the mountain. They are breathable and warm which is hard to find! Stoked about them.

Warm

Warm! But in all the right ways :) I had to be careful with what i wore over the top of them. I Found on the colder days they paired nice with a long john then snow bibs. Great and comfortable.

    Warm!

I used these when sleeping during backpacking or as a baselayer snowboarding/winter activities. Warmer than I though. Fit well. I thought about buying a midweight later but didn’t because these were sufficient!

    Highly recommend it

Occassion - I wore them with light hiking pants when i was hiking in Iceland and Norway in late August/early September, and I absolutely loved them. Very comfortable. Very light and sturdy.
Size - I played soccer and football, so i have bigger thighs, so it didn't feel too big for me, but i can see how some people may think they run large.

    Best long john!

I have two pairs of these I've been wearing these things for the last 4 years snowboarding, fishing, and camping (which means I'm in them way more than I probably should be) and they are still kicking! They are super comfy and surprisingly odor resistant. Highly recommend!

    Capilene

Capilene is still the most tried and true fabric when I require moisture wicking. These lightweight guys serve me well on the coldest of ski days and the warmest of spring days. I was originally hooked on capilene tops and have since come to love the bottoms.
I still love my merino baselayers, but these capilene bottoms have definitely earned a place in my quiver.
Also, it's worth noting that these fit a little looser than most baselayers

    Capilene...Yes Please

Gave as a gift and this was the response,

Went out on a limb and tried this material out after reading the reviews. Gotta say that they were not hype. This layer has a unique feel all to its own and it quite impressive. Extremely soft, smooth, and from what I have noticed minimal static if any. I'm 5'10" and 150 and the small has a comfortable loose fit. Nice under the work pants or on the hill. Will definitely be buying more pairs of these.

I keep the top and bottom to this capilene set in my sleeping bag at all times. light, breathable, comfortable and not too warm. I sleep in these all year round

    Capilene is amazing

I have yet to hear about a better synthetic baselayer than Patagonia's capilene. Size chart seems to be dead on.

    Lightweight, smooth and sturdy

I've worn these on about ten days and washed them once. They still look new and have worn well. I've worn these on cold days with an insulated ski pant and was surprised how comfortable I was. They have also been worn under lighter ski touring pants on some high aerobic days and they kept me on the cooler side as soon as I opened the pant thigh vents. The fly provides easy access at the urinal or behind a tree and keeps junk hidden when I walk around the house in them. The waist band seems like it will keep it's stretchiness over time and was comfortable with a compression boxer underneath. I feel the sizing is true and the Underwater Blue is a sweet color. I bought these to supplement my mid-weight long underwear and now I may just regulate my old pair to sleepwear.

Is this new "Lightweight" like the old capilene 1 or 2?

Hey Mark - This Capilene Lightweight would be comparable to the old Capilene 1. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

I gifted these to my boyfriend who was in need of a new pair of baselayer bottoms and he's in love. The Capilene bottoms are soft, comfortable and keep you warm. He doesn't like to layer all that much when we're out skiing as he tends to heat up very quickly in the mountains. These lightweight bottoms breath very well and he never overheats so he highly recommends these to anyone.

    Great Baselayer

Lightweight and comfortable. You hardly notice it while wearing it as a baselayer but does provide a needed initial insulated layer against the cold.

I love Patagonia baselayers and for good reason, they rock. I have worn these skiing, to class during the day, and to work in the windy chilly days, and they always hold up.

The lightweight is perfect for throwing under a pair of dress pants, jeans, or even khakis. I have even strolled around the house finding myself relaxing and enjoying the comfort of these bad boys. Do yourself a favor and grab a pair for the winter

    Solid!

These cap. bottoms worked great with jeans in London and Paris, although I would like to do more research on that....
