Soft, stretchy foundation for outdoor endeavors.

Supremely soft and stretchy, the Patagonia Men's Capilene Daily Long-Sleeve Graphic T-Shirt is a great foundation for layering warmth on outdoor adventures. This long-sleeve base layer features recycled polyester fabric that's lightweight and quick-drying, making it an optimal piece for wearing underneath a heavier fleece while hiking or waterproof shell on the mountain.

The top's pigment print maintains its stretch characteristics, all while bringing vibrant style into your outdoor pursuits. Underarm gussets enhance your range of motion without bunching up or restricting motion. Polygiene odor control keeps funky odors at bay, so you don't offend your significant other or roommates after a strenuous day outdoors.

Fit is annoying

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The material is fine, moisture wicking, light weight, yaddi yadda. However, the most important part of any base layer is that it fits in a way that you forget it exists.

This thing has an uncomfortably high neck so it touches against your throat unless you keep pulling it down and the sleeve material bunches up at the seam joint. I bought it as an extra trail running shirt and base layer and used it once or twice and now just can't seem to justify putting it on compared to a smartwool base layer or some of my other better fitting polyester layers.

Less likely to wear this than anything in my giant pile of "free" graphic race shirts they hand out after marathons and such. Which says a lot...

Gets the job done

Well, I needed another long sleeve for winter running. This one will work, but the fit and feel of the fabric are not what they used to be. The fit is nice and trim except the sleeves are about 2 inches short on me, I got a medium and I am 6’1”, which isn’t the end of the world just not ideal. I didn’t realize Patagonia changed their entire capilene line to be all polysester, which doesn’t stretch or move as well as well as capilene silk weight items used to. I will still use the shirt for winter runs but definitely won’t be stocking up on more of them. Advice to Patagonia, go back to the old capilene this new stuff is sub par!

    Amen, well said!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

Super thin, lightweight shirt great for the summer. Wore this in the gym and loved how it felt. It's pretty fitted so size up if you prefer a looser fit.

    Does it have thumb loops?

    Best Answer

Hey Seth, this shirt does not have any thumb loops. Feel free to reach out via the information listed above if you have any other questions.

    Perfect Hiking/Gym Shirt for Year-round

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I've worn these shirts for several days on end on a spring section hike of the AT and the funk stayed away(on the shirt fabric at least). Quick drying, light and airy, and flexes with you. I own several of these and regularly wear them to minimize sun exposure on sunny workouts, runs, and hikes(and a lot of the time to just lounge around the house, super comfy).

    Killer layer!!

keeps the moisture wicked and keeps me in a comfortable temperature range when skiing!!

      Cap!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Can't go wrong with the Cap long sleeve shirt! Love that you can use this shirt in just about every occasion, it's very comfy as a causal shirt and works well as a sport/running shirt. Drys very quickly when wet, awesome for summer days and fishing!
