Hike, commute, or travel.

The Patagonia Arbor Classic 25L Backpack excels on shorter hikes, commuting to work or school, and going on short trips. The main pocket is easily accessed via a large opening, allowing you to stuff it full with your sweatshirt, a water bottle and some snacks for your quick after work hike. A padded 15in laptop case helps protect your computer when commuting to work or traveling, while the zippered front pocket helps you organize your smaller important items like a passport, car keys, and wallet.

  • A backpack for day hikes, commuting, or traveling
  • Top flap holds in your goods while offering easy access
  • Front zippered pocket provides organization for smaller items

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I have purchased this bag twice and really just could not find a good use for it. I LOVE the style and the look, but the lack of a water bottle pocket on the side and the lack of internal storage just won't work for me. There is not much support to the bag, and the waist strap is silly and flimsy. Because there is only one front zippered pocket a very lightly padded laptop sleeve, your things are impossible to find as they jostle around and settle at the bottom of your pack. If you don't need a ton of organization, this could be a great bag!

Not a good bag

I really don't understand the previous reviews. The material is stiff, heavy polyester and the stitching is really poor. There is absolutely no justification for the steep pricetag, other than the patagonia label.
Edit: Dropped my 2 star review to 1 star because backcountry no longer allows free returns. Now I'm stuck with this junk bag.

This bag will blow your mind!

I originally bought this back pack for my school books and laptop. Due to the simplicity of it, your not having to search through every pocket to find what your looking for. After getting the bag, i was super stoked to see that its way bigger than i thought i be. With that being said I not only use it as a school & work bag, I've taken it on hikes in southern Utah, as well as a carry on travel bag! The straps are very comfortable on the shoulders, with lots of customized room to where is sits on your back. it has a waist strap to keep it against your lower back for a more comfortable fit. i wouldn't use it as a backpacking pack but for a casual, good looking, everyday bag this bag with meet all of your needs. Patagonia blew my mind with this bag!

      Great bag!

This was actually a great bag, and I loved the color! Unfortunately it was just a little large for my day-to-day use, so I returned it. If you have a lot of stuff though, I would definitely recommend this!

        How to Measure:
        Torso:
-Have a friend locate the bony bump at the base of your neck, where the slope of your shoulder meets your neck. This is your 7th cervical vertebra (C7). Tilt your head forward to locate it more easily. This is the top of your torso length.
-Place your hands on top of your hips bones, with fingers point forward, thumbs in back. This it eh "shelf" on which your pack will rest. The middle of an imaginary line drawn between your thumbs is the bottom of your torso length.
-Using the tape measure, your friend should measure the distance between the C7 and the imaginary line between your thumbs. Be sure you stand up straight when being measured. You know should have your torso length.
        Waist:
Measure around your waist just above your hips.
