Wanted to love...

This pack looked like it checked all the boxes for what I wanted for in a day-plus pack. However, the good design was poorly executed. Of the 7 external pockets only 1 is functional. The "fames sheet" is a joke and might as well not be be there. When loaded the shoulder straps have no shape and therefore sit poorly on the neck. If you don't use pockets and only carry a jacket and lunch on your hikes then this pack is for you.

Patagonia replaced their nine trails pack with the altiva and dropped some critical features that I?m super bummed about loosing- specifically the load lifters and padded shoulder straps! This pack also seems pretty flimsy - the back is too soft and thin to act as a buffer between awkward bulky items in the pack and the wearers back.
