As a very cold human being this was the perfect jacket for me. Perfect for everyday wear and I loved it hiking. It is surprisingly insulating while still maintaining its breathability. A very flattering fit (I'm 5'6" and 120 lbs and ordered a small) Id definitely recommend this jacket.

    Fabulous softshell jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

With Patagonia, everything is usually wonderful - it's just a matter of getting the right fit. This jacket is fantastic for us curvier women - I'm 5'5" and weigh 145 lbs. (64 years old) The Medium is a great fit, with room for a fleece or down vest beneath. I've used it for X-C skiing on chillier days & for downhill spring skiing. I'm thoroughly thrilled with it.

What is the center back length of a medium?

    27 inches

    Gorgeous color!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I did nit really need another softshell jacket, but after discovering a random (size S-I am a L) jacket in this color at a patagonia Outlet store, I immediately went on the search for my size! Blue Butterfly is a gorgeous rich blue/purpley color. If you don't love the image color, you need to see it in person. Several other patagonia products are in this color this season, but this jacket is great for spring skiing and throwing on over just about everything.

    Great product.

Fits perfectly with plenty of breathing room. Very sturdy, and can be worn alone or with a heavy down coat. Is very neat and presentable looking too, even appropriate as street wear! Fabulous.

Wanted to love this jacket but...

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large

This jacket was exactly what I was looking for: soft-shell, windproof, lightweight, cute colors...but the fit was off for me. I am tall and thin (5'10, 122 lbs), so the long sleeve length was great, but the body of the jacket was strange. It fit well in the chest and shoulders, but the back area looked like it just had way too much material! An xs would have been too tight in the chest. I went back and forth about keeping it because the jacket itself is well-made and looks great off, but ultimately I returned it. I think it has to do with the "regular fit" style. I guess I will have to stick with "slim fit" models in Patagonia.

    Nice softshell

I would have liked to keep this softshell but it was way too big for me. I am tall with long arms and thought it would be a perfect fit, but the sleeves are very long and it was still huge everywhere else. I am sending it back and will try something else. I was looking for a lighter weight softshell than my North Face.

Just received the jacket. Alas, it would be perfect if it were not too long-waisted for me. I am 5' 4" tall and weigh 110 lbs. I ordered the XS. I got the jeweled berry which is more pink than red.

I'm wanting to put together a fleece and a lightweight jacket. What are lengths of PAT2769 XL and PAT 2097 XL. Would these work well together?

      Versatile jacket

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this as a gift for my mother for Xmas. She loves it. The jacket has a great, flattering fit and is a bit longer in the sleeves/torso which is great for taller women. It's totally windproof and has a great, durable lining. It is soft and comfortable while retaining functionality.

      Great Jacket!

I returned the North Face Calentito jacket for the Adze, because I didn't like the fit of the Calentito, and have been very happy with it. I got this jacket to take backpacking, so wanted something warm, versatile, and lightweight. I took it on a two week trip to Peru, and it was perfect. Easy to wear under or over other layers. I ordered it in Forge Gray and LOVE the color. The grey is a perfect neutral color for versatility, and the pink adds a feminine touch. My only complaint is that the sleeves were too long for me, and unless I rolled them up a bit, there was a lot of extra fabric in my arms. This seems to be true of a lot of jackets for me, though. I'm 5'2, 120 pounds, and ordered the XS.

        Awesome and versatile jacket!

Wow! Pleasantly surprised when I got this jacket. I have other softshell jackets and Patagonia hit it right and takes the prize with the Adze Softshell Jacket. The fabric is light and flexible with one of the more comfortable linings you can get, all with the windblock and protection they promise. As far as fit and cut, they've nailed it again. The sleeve length is generous and the cut is a flattering regular fit without being boxy. I'm between sizes so I went up and by doing so there was plenty of room. If you plan to do a bit of layering go up in size; if layering is light or this is just a quick go-to jacket to battle the elements for an errand, and you're between sizes like me, then getting the smaller size will work too (that way great for layering UNDER another outer layer too!) Love it for sure!

So, loved the color and the material was a good quality for the price. The length of the sleeve were good as well. I own several Patagonia fleece and never had an issue with the fit. I have a small bust (32C) and it looked like a had another set of breasts under my arm pits. There was TONS of extra fabric and it was tight across my hips. If you have an athletic, swimmer that I mean are "V" shaped, then this is a great jacket for you. It was uncomfortable and NOT flattering for my build. I ordered the Small.

Great jacket. Light weight, but full of protection against the wind.
