Tough to beat for the price
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 650b x 48 mm
GK SK 650b is a very fast rolling gravel/adventure tire. It’s slightly heavy, but the weight is offset by its amazing rolling speed. It does have a protection belt and seems quite sturdy, even in the non + form. It’s volume is as advertised - maybe a few mm more on wider internal rims (50mm on 25mm IR). Tubeless setup was easy. Drawbacks include a bit of a vague floaty sensation over thick gravel, particularly concerning in a curve. However, it does seem to grip and bite well on singletrack. Most at home on dry surfaces with mostly fine gravel or dirt. Ride comfort is excellent as well (I run 24 psi F and 28 psi rear). The deal clencher is the price. I was able to purchase a pair for less than the cost of a single “premium” gravel tire. I’d say it’s tough to beat.
