Warm but Not the Best With Snow/Rain

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought these to bike with and purchased a size large to fit over an inner pair of gloves. They look and feel very nice and the quality seems good. The only problem is that when I ride in the snow (which I do a lot because I ride to work every day) they provide very little water resistance. Now, I understand that they are not marketed as water-proof and as such I was not expecting them to be water-proof. I was however expecting them to have just a bit of water resistance to them, but they're like sponges really. So I really do like them and will find an alternate use for them and will find something else to wear biking on those snowy and cold rainy days.

I bought them for cycling.

They do a good job in cold weather, but I should have considered that where I grip the handlebar, the down compresses - so less warmth. Not their fault. I probably need wind-blocking shells too. Definitely reduces risk of frostbite!

Warm!

I'm a scuba diver in Alaska and wear these in the winter, when we are on the surface, between dives. Keeps my hands warm. I bought a size L to have room to add hand warmers.

Super puffy and warm!

Use this product hard in brutal central VT winters... skiing, snowshoeing, between casts fly-fishing, even dog-walking. Used alone for dry days or with a OR shell for snowy days or wet adventures. Always warm, dry fast, super lite-weight. Who doesn't love a down mitten?

Meh. Thumb too short

Want to like these because they seem like they would be warm. However, the thumb is too short for the size of the mittens. I tried to x-country ski with these and got a thumb cramp because I can't hold the pole properly with the thumb hole so small (can't hold the handle all the way between my thumb and pointer) Also, got these for my birthday 3 days ago and some of the little feathers are already coming out of the seems. The inside liner is also very slippery. Otherwise they feel like a pillow. Not sure they can get much use because of fit.

Excellent summit mittens but short thumbs

These mittens go in my pack for every weekend hike and frequently get worn on cold snow summits! My only gripe is that the XS mittens fit my hands, but I needed to order a medium to have enough thumb room. Strange problem- never had that happen before. Bought several pair for friends and they also thought the thrum placement was strange. Design flaw. Great quality product otherwise!

Sleeping bags for my hands- part of my kit for alpine runs where temps drop quickly and the headlamps come out.

Finally

I have reynauds and finally these are the only gloves that help my hands stay warm in -10 to -20 weather. I've spent thousands on gloves and these are the only ones. I recommend layering these with an outer shell glove. I use an OR version as well.
