Protection that rocks.
Whether you're weaving through the wet woods of Mt.Baker or making wide, arcing turns on the groomers of Gore Mountain in upstate New York, the Outdoor Research Women's Igneo Jacket is built to make the most out of your day on the hill in comfort and style. The 70D nylon face fabric is tough enough to withstand snagging branches and coarse lift rides, while fully taped seams and the two-layer Pertex Shield membrane keep cold precipitation outside where it belongs.
Filled with strategically-placed Thermore Classic Compact synthetic insulation, the Igneo keeps you cozy when the cold really kicks in, yet offers underarm zippered venting for a quick cool down on the uphill. The removable powder skirt with LockDown technology prevents snow from slipping in where it doesn't belong while surfing through powder, and the integrated Recco reflector aids in in-bounds rescue attempts. The removable, adjustable hood, hem, and cuffs provide customizable protection to adapt with the unpredictable weather of the mountains.

Quite the functional backcountry ski jacket! Extremely durable, lightly insulated, and full-featured. I love that I can remove the powder skirt, have easily accessible pit zips, and have a goggle wipe in my chest pocket. The side pockets are deep and soft, so I can quickly stash anything, from snacks to hot packs to my splitboard binding pins, to even goggles if I needed/wanted to (fleece-lined). The internal shove-it pocket is big enough to stash my cheater sheet (the mesh separator for my skins). And the cuffs easily adjust tighter to easily pull on a warm OR glove. I guess if there were just 1 improvement, it would be for a more flattering shape around the waist. When I look back at some backcountry ski photos, after adding my beacon and skins under my Igneo, I look pregnant! But I guess if I were to decide between looking fit and being fit w/ the room to ski/skin the way I want, I would choose the latter. This is a very thoughtful piece!
Is this jacket only in men's sizes? Is there a women's size chart?
Thanks for bringing to our attention the size chart error. We are working on getting that fixed. In the meantime, you can check out the OR size chart on another one of their jackets. Outdoor Research Aspire Jacket here http://www.backcountry.com/outdoor-research-aspire-jacket-womens
