Cirque Softshell Pant

If 'vertical' is a word that appears in your everyday vocabulary, then the Outdoor Research Women's Cirque Softshell Pants want to catch some altitude with you. Made for days in the mountains when waterproof hard-shell pants would be too stuffy but regular hiking pants wouldn't provide enough protection, the Cirque pants are crafted with a water-resistant, double-weave stretch fabric that shields you from mist and doesn't mind the occasional spring skiing day. The trim fit lies comfortably under a harness during summer alpine missions, and a durable scuff guard adds a layer of defense against crampon points and ski edges. Multiple pockets accommodate your essentials while you move up in the world.

Great pants/allow for full range of motion

I used these pants over the past winter prepping for my trip to Nepal (sadly postponed to next year!). They were very comfortable, durable, and I was surprised the flexibility/agility I had wearing them. I used them for extensive hiking/scrambling in the woods on various trails/terrain. I didn't feel like I was wearing bulky gear - important to me because I tend to carry my gear and weight is important to me. For really cold days, all I needed was a good baselayer legging and I was good to go all day. I also appreciate the extra technical features on these pants - reinforced at the bottom for boot chafing, hooks into your boots, useful pockets. I would absolutely recommend these pants to anyone - both for hiking and snow sports.

They live up to the hype!

These pants have been a winter game changer! They are warm but very breathable flexible, feel great, great pockets etc. A little long on me because i have short legs but with winter hiking boots of ski boots they are fine. I've been out all day in the backcountry and on resort slopes, hiking, skiing, around town.

Great pant NEED a greater variety of sizes and lengths.

I love the material of these pants, great for winter hiking, but the pants are way too long for me. I just wear them baggy at the bottom, which is fine with large boots but ruins the sleek appearance. I'm 5'6" and the pants are at least 3 inches too long.

Inseam is far too long for the petite!

Great pants for mountaineering and touring but do not accommodate the petite ladies in length. If I were to tailor these in length, it would leave an annoying seem to rub above my knee. Please make short lengths available.

Great pant

this is a great pant for hiking and skiing. They would have been perfect if they came in a petite. I usually wear a small but these were just too big, I had to return them. I'm 5', 112 lbs. I wish they came in an XS.

Great all around snow pant

Love these snow pants!! The stretch makes them super comfy and they are quite warm. Wore them shoveling the driveway with jeans under and exceeded expectations. Wore them snowshoeing worried that they would be bulky but couldn't tell the difference between those and my NF Snoga pants. Can't wait to try them out on the ski hill.

Too long!

I just bought a pair of these, second try. The first time I ordered the size the chart suggested for my measurements, which was far, far too large. So I sized down to a medium, which is what I usually wear. Overall the fit is good but as others have said they are WAY too long. I'm 5'3" with a 29 in inseam and normally a 30 is not ideal but fine. I'm struggling with whether to return them or not, because I don't want to be tripping over my feet; I could seriously see these tangling with my crampons.

I recommend these pants.

These pants work really well for skinning. Warm enough even on cold days. My only adjustment was to take a big tuck right above the zippers because they were so long. If I were 6'+ instead of 5'7.5" they would have been perfect.

Love these pants.

For the most part, I use these pants for ice climbing and drytooling on colder days. Have also used them ski touring and mountaineering. This is the third pair of these pants that I've bought and they're a great set to have in the quiver.
