Well made, Great value, compact and lightweight

I love the color combination, looks great equally in town as on the trail. Well made, comfortable, weather tight, yet light and pack-able. I hope it gives me many years of service. Good value for the money.

Really good rain jacket for the price

Purchased this rain jacket as a father's day gift for my dad and it fits him extremely well, repels water well, and looks good. I would purchase again for myself if I didn't already have a Gore-Tex jacket.

Excellent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a comfortable and well-featured rain jacket that can serve double duty as a winter shell. It is well featured with all of the capabilities that you'd expect in a technical shell, but at a fraction of the price because it uses OR's proprietary breathable layer and not more expensive Gore-tex. In my opinion Outdoor Research makes the best hiking rain gear in my experience and the Apollo Jacket is another great product!

One of the best out there in this class

This is a light weight rain and windproof jacket. The pockets are placed well and are actually useful, hood is nicely adjustable and fits well if you want to wear a fleece or something thicker underneath. Perfect for everyday use or summer hikes in the mountains if the weather is iffy.

trash product with cheap liner

cheap trash - the liner rips if you wear a watch, or a backpack, or put anything in the pockets. horrible product not worth half the price

A solid jacket for the price

I work outside in heavy rain and this has kept my under layers dry in some downpours. It's definitely the best jacket in this price range as far as protection from rain that I've tried. It definitely isn't super breathable so it's not ideal when you're working hard or if it's warm outside but it has vents that help if you get to hot which I like. Most important it stops long periods of heavy rain for a good price.

fills the bill

I was looking for a relatively inexpensive, lightweight, and functional rain jacket for travel, day hikes, and around-town use. The Apollo is exactly what I needed. I live in a cool, wet climate and the waterproofness is holding up well. I like that the jacket does not "wet-out" on the exterior, which helps a lot. The material is not particularly breathable, so if you're wearing short sleeves or a thin shirt you'll notice some clamminess, but that's fine for me - keeping rain out is the most important part. In the cool rain, I typically wear a base layer underneath. The fit is fine, and like a lot of OR products, the sleeves are longish, which is what I need. There are velcro cinches on the sleeves that can be tightened so the sleeves don't slip down on your hands. I've only had the jacket for a couple months, so I can't evaluate how durable the jacket is; that's the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.
