Outdoor Research Amplitude Short - Men's

Crank it up.

When you're the kind of guy who thinks any trail run that's less than five miles is barely a walk in the woods, then the Outdoor Research Men's Amplitude Short is for you. The polyester-blend shell brings you breathable, lightweight, and stretchy comfort to ensure you keep up your pace while dodging fallen logs and low-hanging branches, while the AirVent trim keeps fresh air breezing through for cool, dry comfort on days that are hotter than expected. Keeping things in place, the stretchy inner short liner adds support without chafing or getting tangled when it's an all-out sprint to the top. Then, a built-in sun-protection rating of UPF 50 helps shield your skin from harsh UV rays on runs where shade is scarce.

Stretchy, Laser Cut Perfection!

The Amplitude shorts are for you if you not just like a comfortable, no-chafing, stretchy, breathable, heat dumping, well-built running short, but you NEED a comfortable, no-chafing, stretchy, breathable, heat dumping, well-built running short!

Besides the fit being on-point, the two pockets are expertly placed (one stash pocket in back, one zip pocket on the thigh) and hold plenty of necessities without compromising movement. The elastic waist is snug enough to stay put without any binding, the internal drawcord works well, too – although I hardly use it.

The stretchy inner short breaths very well, dries quick and does not hold onto stinky, sweaty smells.

These shorts also look awesome and although they're running shorts they are not short-shorts - when standing at-ease, the hem is just a few inches above my knee. I love the color (I have blue) and the way OR bonded the hems and seems makes these shorts a real pleasure visually. Also, I find they work very well for beach wear and on the river (there’s a nice little loop inside sewed into the waist for hanging).

I have several pairs of these shorts and I use a pair for relaxing around the house (Yep, they are that comfy!) and a pair for ripping it outside and in the gym.

I’m 5.9, 175 lbs. 32-inch waist and the Large fits great.

Killer on the trail, great on the water

OR has knocked it out of the park with the Amplitude Shorts. They are cut perfectly for road or trail running, short nought to be out of the way, long enough not to look rediculous. They breath well and are durable on the trail. I also snagged a blue pair of paddle boarding.
