The internal sleeve comfortably secures their tablet for scratch-free storage. In addition, a quick-access front pocket holds snacks, a rain shell, or other hiking accessories on the trail.

    Nice but small

Nice pack for very young school kids. Mine is 12 and this was too small for someone his age so I exchanged for something larger.

Agreed, Marshall. This is perfect for ages 4 - 10, but after that, the kiddos need a bit more room for school! Try the Comet as the next step.

      Thanks for the revie,

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought this backpack for my nephew to use for school. It's a comfortable fit and has plenty of space for his books, lunch, clothes, etc. He likes the padded straps for support when he has to carry numerous books to and from school and the side pockets are typically stuffed with candy and other snack wrappers. Easy to stash away things real quickly. I don't doubt this pack will last him for years!

      Osprey is da Bomb!

This is my sons second Osprey pack. His fist one held up great and was only retired as a school pack due to needing more room. Great fit and quality that you come to expect from Osprey. There is a waist strap just so you not not listed above. The smaller pocket has nice organization features for snacks, goodies, pencils and what not. Always happy w/ Osprey! This should last for years to come.

        Fantastic kids backpack

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My son is 6 and in 1st grade. We switched from a Pottery Barn kids backpack to this one for 1st grade due to durability. I think this bag will last at least until middle school. It is big enough to hold all of his stuff and his lunch with a water or two on the outside pockets. He loves it, it looks great and has worn well in the last 2 months he's had it.

        How to Measure:
For best results, have someone take the measurement for you.
        Torso:
Start at the iliac crest (the top of your hipbone that you can feel like a shelf on the side of your body). From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down. Make sure to keep your back straight while having the measurement taken.
        Hip:
Measure around your hips, at your iliac crest, not your waist.
