Hey Duane--thanks for the heads up. We price match!
Great bag to stow ski gear
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I have used the Osprey BigKit on two weekend ski trips this season. I opted for the larger BigKit over the SnowKit as I wanted to be able to pack all of my clothes for a trip, not just ski gear only. For my travel, I checked this bag for my flights as it was too big for carry-on.
Overall, its a great bag for carrying ski boots, ski gear (helmet, gloves, attire), and all of my other trip clothing (one trip was four days). The boot bag area is large and I was able to stick another pair of shoes along with my ski boots with room to spare. The backpack straps were clutch and allowed me to carry the heavy bag through the airport while being able to quickly and easily tuck them away when it was time to check the bag.
I only have one gripe with the design of the bag. The compartment for the ski boots sits in the middle of the bag when used. There is room to put clothing underneath and above the compartment, but it was more challenging than it should have been to work around the boots. It would be better if the compartment was built into the top or bottom, leaving more open room for packing.
Hey there Brad, thank you for the review. The boot portion is "free floating", but when the boots are in there, the ides is to load stuff on top, not try to force gear beneath. To structure it any other way would be pricey and not as durable, so that's the reason it is as you see it. I have used this bag all winter for my ski gear and I really agree with you that it has great organization for my kit. Psyched to have it! If you are interested, try the Trail Kit for summer hiking and biking!
Makes ski trips easy
I love my Big Kit! I have it neatly packed and ready to head to the mountains at a moment's notice. Everything has it's place, so I know where to find my toothbrush when I get to the ski house, and can find my ski socks first when I get to the slopes.
Excellent! Thank you Minna!
