These shorts are perfect for everything. Mountain bike in some rugged terrain and want some added protection from whippers and rocks, done. Hike with a little scramble and needs to make sure your legs don't get smashed, done. Jump in that stream on the way home, done. Hit up your local mountain town concert series and roll in the grass with the hula-hoopers and two year old's down in the front while your buddy rips his best John Mayer solo, yeah, these shorts got that covered too. The hybrid material is rugged and not too hot, the merino against your skin on the waist band feels buttery and also somehow stays put. The belt is nice for when you dive off the local rocks into the water hole, otherwise, it's a little superfluous; but still nice to have. Get these, you wont regret it.
