    Deceptive

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So, based on several reviews I purchased this saddle bad in L. It was easy to install and was roomy and seems well built. The problem is that there is no way to properly close the bag without the purchase of an additional strap that Ortlieb sells for an additional 8 bucks. The description here states that there is an

    HUGE

I ordered the small, and was shocked to see how big and wide it was. I guess I am used to small saddle bags. If you like a LOT of carrying capacity, go for it, but I think this would be awkward on a road bike. Returning for something sleeker.

      I Love this bag!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a terrific bag! I have both the medium and large sizes on my road bike. I like that I can swap the bag between bikes. I used to want the smallest seat bag possible but after getting stuck with flats and not enough supplies far from home, I decided to switch to a larger bag. The medium is quite spacious, with room for a few CO2 cartridges and inflator, spare tubes, patch kit, tool, etc. It's not quite long enough for a micro pump. The large is very spacious and the price here is fantastic. I can fit a micro pump and some spare clothes & food in it, which is great for solo century days in places without backup or cell reception. If I want to compress the bags down a bit, I use a spare tie-down strap. Waterproofing is superb, adjustability covers a wide range, yet these bags are not as bulky as bike packing or bike-touring packs. They hit a perfect sweet spot. There's also no zippers to get snagged, and no stitching that will come undone like on so many seat bags. These are fantastic bags and I am very pleased with them!

      Nice and stable

The small is big enough for a couple of tubes, levers, multitool, key, and maybe a couple of clif bars. The fit is super stable, but is still quick to take on and off the bike. I do wish the roll closure had some level of adjustability to tighten the bag up when it's not completely full.
