Optimus Titanium Cutlery - 3-Piece

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a review for the Optimus Titanium Cutlery - 3-Piece, which is no longer on the site. The three piece is light and sturdy with a polished finish that makes it easier to eat with and clean.

Folding, titanium, spork. Perfection.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As my profile suggests, I have a thing for sporks. This one goes in my utlralight pack when I'm really cranking down the ounces. Its great for tight packing too, since it fits inside most cups and pots. I had trouble with it collapsing like many reviewers here, but you just have to push down the little "belt" on the handle to tension the handle and keep it in place.

Not stoked.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I normally love a new spork! This one is easy to use as long as you don't have to put a lot of strain on it. If the compactibility is important to you, then I would buy this spork. It will fold up nice and small which is nice if you need o hide it in a mug or bowl.

flimsy junk

you can't even scoop warm peanut butter without this thing folding closed. useless if you're not willing to coax it through each bite. When not inappropriately folding shut, the wire will come entirely detached too.

its a spork!

Pretty solid product here. The wire handle seems like an obvious failure point, but mine's held up just fine thus far. Easily fits inside MSR mugs. I'll probably get the Short Titanium Spork from Snowpeak to replace this in the future.

    its a spork!

    Length and width?

    Length and width?

It fold small enough to be negligible in a full pack. But I will measure mine up for you tomorrow if its that important to ya.
