For ladies who live to give a little love to the liquid.

At ten feet long and just 34 pounds, the Ocean Kayak Venus 10 Sit-On-Top Kayak was designed for women who are small in stature but big on love for the water. Ocean Kayak took design feedback from female paddlers and placed the seat well lower in the boat in order to accommodate a woman's center of gravity, and gave the Venus a Comfort Hybrid seat that's especially comfortable and efficient for the ladies. Along with a rear tank well and bungee system, there's also a specially-designed car-topping handle system that makes it easy to load the Venus up and head to the water, and a drain plug so you don't bring any lake water home with you.

The Sit-On-Top that handles like a Sit-Inside!

I am a long time Sit-Inside kayak fan (I have 3), I thought that SOTs didn't handle well, were heavy, slow and unmanoeverable. My conversion began with borrowing an Old Town Twister which manoevers so well and is so easy to get in and out of that I started looking for a SOT that had that same feel but was small and light. This is that boat. It turns and stops on a dime. It's short enough to poke into any small corner - as I do when I'm on a river cleanup trip. It tracks as well as any sub 10ft kayak and it's as fast too. My 73-yr-old knees are thanking me for the ease of getting on and off since it doesn't tip over if you sit on it sideways and swing your legs round (or the reverse). It is quite happy on river riffles, it ships no more water than my 9ft sit-inside. I haven't tried it in surf yet but think it would manage that too - as long as it wasn't too much. I am at the top end of the stated weight range at 154 lbs but all that means is that the seat gets wet. Scupper stoppers limit the ingress of water to the point where it warms up and you don't notice it. The handling doesn't seem to be affected at all. The seat works very well and there are lots of eyelets all down the side of the boat to attach stuff to. Having said that, because the boat is so short, there is not much storage space. The well at the back holds enough for a day trip and there are bungee cords on the bow for a small drybag. The only problem is that there is nowhere good for your water bottle. i have solved that for now by gluing a section of half a pool noodle to the boat between my knees (having shaped it a bit first) and this is enough to stop my water bottle sliding around. It won't last long so I am going to have to come up with a better solution eventually. But this is a minor complaint for a boat that I can happily sit in for 3 hrs without my butt getting so sore that I have to get out and stretch. Did I say I love this boat?!

Ocean Kayak Venus a winner

Kayak arrived in good shape and very quickly. Excellent shipping company. This is a perfect boat for small woman. We like the quality and design of Ocean Kayaks. We also own a Frenzy and a Malibu 11.5.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I love my new Yak! It's a great fit for my shorter 5ft stature. Lightweight enough for me to handle and lift. Has great stability on the water. And...the color is beautiful!

Not as easy to carry as they say

I bought this model because it was the lightest kayak. Too bad the carry handles are not at the center of gravity. Makes it just as much of a struggle as my old kayak. Tracking isn't that great but it's fast and good looking. After having it for two years I have mastered steering of the less predictable track while exploring through trees and marsh. I do love it. Just wish there was a cup holder.

Love it

This is my first kayak. As I get older (67) I thought that I should increase my physical activity and stay more active. I did some research on line and found that the Venus 10 model was recommended for smaller women. I love it. Great blue color. So glad I made the plunge
