Not Waterproof!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Was under the impression that they were waterproof, but they are not. Not happy with the confusion..

Solid hiking shoes.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have hiked in these a few times and worn them to work a few times. They are great for hiking, very supportive and solid feeling. As for at work I have found them a bit lacking, not comfortable for long days on concrete floors. Not the fault of the shoe, and maybe with some breaking in this will change. I like light hikers for work and these just may be too stiff of a shoe for such a purpose.
I recommend these for hiking.

Quality, but fit was wrong for me

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 11

I really wanted to love these. I got my size as well as 1/2 size up and down and I just couldn't get them to fit my heel and arch well. They look like they're SUPER well made, but not for me regrettably. Returned.

Very Stable

Very stable and comfortable. Great hiking shoes and good looking.

    Oboz Amaze!

Oboz is a great company and they make great products. These are my go-to for hiking and anything outdoors. They are instantly comfortable yet durable, which is a hard thing to do. If you are looking for hiking shoes that are going to last, look no further. The picture I posted is actually of the Switchback which is just a little stiffer than the Sawtooth.

    Solid construction, Decent durability

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 14

Positive: Balanced, well-built, and comfortable. Nice and flexible out of the box, and it's held up over time. The sole has been supportive, and the upper has held it's shape. They are just now starting to lose shape in the sole at the end of their life. These shoes have lasted me over 18 months of casual use with 5-6 hikes under 10 miles. I'm accustomed to getting about 12 months out of this type of shoe, normally.

Negative: Some of the materials on the outside materials started to abrade right away, but not to the point of ruining the shoe. It was akin to a giant scuff.

Summary: Solid shoe that has served me well.

    Out of the Box Comfort

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I can honestly say this is one of the best out of the box fits I have ever had with a hiking boot or shoe. The first time I wore these we hiked 4 miles and 1,500 vertical feet. To my disbelief there were no hot spots. Took them out again for another 5 miles and 2k in vertical and still no hot spots. Since those early season hikes this has become my main hiking shoe. I have been looking for a light hiking shoe like this for years.

The shoe is very light but offers good traction and stability. The flex point around the toe box are comfortable and do not apply pressure like I have found in some prior shoes. My foot feels secure and does not slop around on the descent which I found while trying to hike in trail runners. Overall a good do it all boot.
