So Rad

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been wanting to snag some of these for a while, and I'm glad I finally got some. Rad, futuristic look that makes me look like I'm in Blade Runner. The lenses are pretty durable and blocks out the UV well. Call me a mad-man, but these are 100% the future of sunglass design.

Looks more than function.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

They are quality made, but odd fit, and feel. I'm more disappointed in Back Country for dropping the price by more than $100 two week's after I purchased these.

Most efficient, no, coolest hell yes!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

All you should really take away from this review is this, I am an avid sunglass collector and own eight pairs of Ray-Ban‘s and three pairs of Oakley‘s, and my Madmen are my every day go to glasses. There was another review that speaks very poorly of these saying they have poor eye coverage, it is true that as far as top-of-the-line glasses go they do not have the best I coverage. There are slight points when looking far to the left or right where you can look through the open bridge, that being said after two days of wearing them you completely get used to it. Now on the positive side these are incredibly comfortable to wear, with a three point fit in the spring hinges the way they fit on my face is absolutely perfect for wearing throughout the day and compared to other glasses they leave no marks on my face after hours of use. I wear them hiking quite frequently and even at work around the job, and after hours of sweating they don’t loosen up or move whatsoever, I even jumped in the water once with them on not knowing I was still wearing them and they stayed on! Look the bottom line is this, these are not the sunglasses you buy to completely incase your eyes, these are the glasses you buy to look bad ass and received tons of comments about!

Most efficient, no, coolest hell yes!!

Oakley Smooth.

Having a small slim face the "Madman" are a perfect fit. I wear them cycling and the fit is snug. Overall, they are great for small oval faces and people with a lot of "swag."

Self described Oakley tramp here, brand loyal for over 20 years. The madman is the first pair of Oakley glasses I've ever returned...Awful fit, awful eye coverage, this coming from a supporter of Oakley's cutting edge/crazy style.

The elevated nose bridge rubs against your face, making it impossible for the glasses to sit correctly on your nose. Combine this with the fact that the lenses DO NOT provide eye coverage to the lateral aspect of your field of vision makes for a unwearable pair of glasses.

Good thing Backcountry has an awesome return policy....

If you want the Madman for a halloween costume, great...if you want the Madman for a functional pair of sunglasses, look for a different model.
