Great Casual Shades

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I guess I'm a boring guy, I generally look for the most low key looking, square-ish, black sunglasses with minimal branding. These are pretty perfect, I like how the Oakely logo is just a hole in the frame, still has the Oakely vibe without being too overt. The rubber by your ears provides great grip so they don't move around, and the lenses are of course top notch coming from Oakley.

My only gripe is that they don't have more lifestyle-friendly colorways. The bright colorful accents on many of the color options sort of ruin it for me. I'm sure that's exactly what some people want, but I'd love to see more lifestyle/dark colors offered in this frame and with non-mirrored lenses. I got the matte black with the prizm polarized lens though and that is perfect for me.

In my experience Oakley lenses definitely can scratch somewhat easily, so definitely keep the soft pouch handy and take good care of them. In exchange, though, you get some of the best optical quality out there for somewhat reasonable prices.
