Because blisters blow.
Prevent blisters while protecting your hands from the sunburn with the NRS Women's Boaters Glove. Lightweight spandex backs provide an UPF 50+ protection for scorching days on the water, and synthetic leather palms protect against blisters when you're paddling for hours on end. Designed with minimal padding and insulation, these three-quarter length gloves allow for full dexterity when gripping paddles. I love these gloves
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I love these gloves; I don't leave home without them. Honestly I bought them to put me over the free shipping amount bc they were cheap but I've worn them dozens of times on backpacks and dayhikes over the last year (not for rowing as advertised). Mostly to keep the sun off the backs of my hands but with the added benefit of protecting my palms when I'm scrambling on rough rock or a few times when I've taken a tumble on the trail. I'll wear them for 8 hours or more comfortably, and they are light/ breathable to not bother me in the summer. Of all the gear I bought last year these have probably given me the best bang for the buck. They are super well made and I expect them to last for many years although I may buy a backup pair just in case to have on hand.
Could be great gloves?!
I received a size XS, but never was given an option to select a size. They would be great if larger, but not worth the shipping to exchange them!
Loved the gloves
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Worked well to cushion our palms though a 54 mile trek down the Green River in UT in the middle of July. Not too hot, and breathable even through 20 mile stretches of rowing in a day.
Fit true to size, and were well worth the investment!
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Wore these for a 5 hour kayak trip. While they did prevent all but one small blister which formed on one of my fingers just past the ends of the gloves they were not very comfortable. With your hand wrapped around the paddle there seems to me too much material in your palm. The worst however, was the seam which runs directly under the thumb where you grip the paddle. I was continuously adjusting the gloves throughout the day to try and shift this seam so that it was not causing uncomfortable pressure on this area. They would probably be fine for short trips but I'll be looking for something better for my next all-day paddle.
