The Now Recon Snowboard Binding excels at straight-lining steeps, blasting methods off cliffs, and slashing through deep powder. This powerful binding features a 12K Carbon highback and carbon-blended mounting post (surrounds mounting disc) for precise turns and explosive response. Now's Hanger 1.0 base is comprised of a 30% fiberglass blend for a highly responsive feel, but without being as uncompromisingly stiff as a full carbon chassis.
The defining feature of the Recon Binding is Now's Skate Tech. This innovative tech attaches the Hanger 1.0 base to a pivoting center kingpin, allowing you to rock the binding back and forth with a subtle amount of play. This rocking motion mimics the turning sensation of a skateboard truck, directing energy transfer for smooth edge-to-edge transitions. Another benefit of this technology is reduced vibration underfoot, courtesy of shock-absorbing bushings sitting between the binding and board interface. The Recon includes both medium (45 shore) and hard (55 shore) density bushings, giving you the option to swap them out for a customized feel to your particular riding style and local terrain.

responsive and comfortable

i had never tried Now bindings before i got these, but i am impressed with them.
since the base plates are essentially entirely made of Eva padding, they are really comfortable. they flex/pivot around the mounting discs and the system really works. the toe strap is about as good as you can ask for as far as grip goes. The heel cup is a little tight, but my burton ions fit in them just about perfectly (size 9 in a Med and they are perfect) this is a low profile boot, larger footprint boots or larger size boots on the M size binding may have less luck for fit, but you might just have to try it. As far as i understand, the hangar 2.0s are a little wider. those are on the Drive's. these are the hangar 1's. The highbacks are full carbon and really do not bend at all, they are highly responsive and i think they are comfortable as well. Some reviewers said they got calf bite but i haven't experienced this.
I have the medium bushings installed and ive found them to be plenty stiff, im not sure the hard ones are necessary but these can be more responsive if you want them to be if you install those.
I have these mounted to a Jones Flagship. Makes for a pretty good freeride setup. they say these are freestyle/freeride but id say much more geared for freeride as the flex is very stiff.
they also look really great with the carbon backs.
