Northwave uses their Speedlight 3D sole which rates at a 10.0 out of 15.0 on their stiffness scale for efficient pedaling on the bike while remaining comfortable for walking around at the trailhead. Up top, the upper's unibody construction reduces pressure points while providing supportive comfort for your feet. Perforations throughout the upper are paired with four mesh inserts to ensure the shoes remain breathable on warm days and intense rides. The upper closes via a lower hook-and-loop strap combined with a convenient SLW2 dial up top that allows incremental adjustments for a fine-tuned fit, with the ability to quickly release at the press of a button. Northwave finishes the shoes with a welded TPU reinforcement on the toe for added protection from unexpected rock strikes.
