Flash GTX Cycling Shoe - Men's
It takes a certain degree of commitment when it comes to winter cycling. Sure, you could saddle up in the comfort of your own home or gym, but there’s no arguing that miles on the road are hard to replace with a trainer, and so we find ourselves layering up with thermal tights, jackets, and fleece lined jerseys — but a warm body can only go so far when your toes are feeling wet and frigid, so Northwave builds the Flash GTX Cycling Shoes to fight the elements and keep you going when temps dip into the negative.
To trap moisture outside, and heat on the inside, a Gore-Tex pique membrane is implemented on the uppers, as well as footbed, allowing sweat to escape, while maintaining a cozy interior. This pairs with a high cuff that snugly tucks under your bib tights to seal the deal with dry comfort. Since support shouldn’t stop on the inside, Northwave equips the Flash GTX Shoes with a signature NGR Air Carbon sole that stays rigid and tough against hard climbs that send you out of the saddle, so you can get the most power out of every pedal stroke.
- Gore-Tex shoes for committing to the winter miles

- High cuff keeps water at bay on wet days
- Get the max from your power with carbon fiber sole
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 44
The shoe work great in temperature between 38 F - 48 F without any shoe covers. Shoe covers are a must in temperatures between 35 F and 20 F. In the low twenties without shoe covers feet start to feel cold but not frozen.
David, size 44 and your size in US size it is? wondering if I should buy bigger since 42.5 ended up being too small.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 41/8.5
Very pleased with this shoe. At first I was hesitant because I thought the neoprene cuff may be too restrictive. It was nothing to worry about. I've ridden these shoes into the 20's and they kept my feet pretty toasty. I find these shoes much more comfortable and lighter than the Fi'zik Articas.
Northwave bike shoes are sold in EU sizing. Find your EU size with this chart, keeping in mind US conversion is approximate.
