Prepared for any weather.

There are times in the high alpine when the sun is out and the going is smooth, then there are times when it seems like the moon might be a more hospitable place than the side of a mountain. For ultimate protection and rugged durability in unpredictable conditions, pull on the Norrona Men's Trollveggen Gore-Tex Pro Shell Bib Pants. At the heart of these technical pants is a 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro shell that offers durability, breathability, and the waterproof protection you have come to know and trust in a Gore-Tex product.

Norrona equipped the Trollveggen Bib Pant with removable gaiters to keep snow out of your boots. Reinforced panels on the lower leg add durability and protection against crampons or ski edges. In case things heat up on the ascent, side zippers provide ventilation and easy access to boots and under layers. An adjustable waist and articulated knees help the Trollveggen fit perfectly. Norrona even made sure all the zippers used on this bib were YKK Aquaseal zippers, ensuring these pants remain watertight and windproof when an unexpected storm blows in during your descent.

The Honeymoon is over. The Honeymoon is

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

  • Size Bought: medium

I loved these bibs initially. Kept me warm and dry during some wet storms. Then without notice, the front zipper came apart while I was getting ready to head out the door to ski, rendering the pants useless. I hate to think what the outcome would be if this happened in the back country. Yikes!

Backcountry.com was wonderful on the warranty!! You guys are great!

Terrific bibs

These were my go-to lower body outer layer all last winter. Absolutely bombproof - no tears, loose threads, small holes after much resort, backcountry, and Nordic skiing, plus a few winter hikes. They breathe well yet insulate superbly even at below -20F with only merino underwear underneath. Easy access pockets on the bib and left leg. I'm 6-4, 200 lb, 37 waist. I bought size XXL, which fits perfectly when I'm wearing my tele boots, a bit long in the leg with Nordic/skating boots, so I sometimes turn up the cuff, as in the photo. Norrona sizes slightly (only slightly) small and I figured (correctly) that a bit larger was better than a bit smaller as the bibs usually go over a heavy sweater or two. Feature set is spot-on; I use them all and haven't found anything that's not there that I'd like to have. Powder cuffs work so well I haven't needed gaiters even on powder days.

Terrific bibs

Bomber but there are drawbacks...

SO I love the Trollveggen, but the disappointment for me came when the leg was too tight to fit over a ski boot. Unfortunately, most of the mountaineering I do involves skiing these days. Aside from that, the YKK zips awesome, the fit is perfect and the construction is hands down the best on earth... If it was not for the leg being so tapered, these would have been my go too bib for a few years to come. Now I just go a little baggier with the Lofoten bib, which is absolutely bomb! For reference, I am 5'9 165 and the smalls fit, but the suspenders make the inseam fit a little uncomfortable so I sized them out and I went with the mediums to get the best overall fit. I felt the medium gave me the best fit for dynamic movement and breathed better than the small. Norrona is pretty true to size in the smalls and mediums (I cannot attest to the futility and sizing of the bigs) so if your in that range go with what you would normally go with and you should be straight.

Great Bib

Used these on Rainier during a snow storm on the way down and they worked like a champ. Kept me warm and dry the entire time
