These pants are THEEEE BEST. Comfortable, warm, excellent fit, the exact style I was looking for (not too baggy, not too tight)! I love the material, the boot gaiters, pockets, vents, everything! Truly a perfect pant and exactly what I was hoping for. I've heard amazing things about Norrona, and while their gear is an investment...I get it now and cannot wait to wear these for the next 10 years. I ordered the bungee color, which is more on the khaki side than the grey I was expecting, but I really like it, tactical, but stylish.

The Perfect Ski/Snowboard Pant

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Medium

I recently purchased these pants and can't get enough of them! I have been skiing and snowboarding for almost 20 years and have never owned pants this comfortable, functional, and aesthetically appealing. I have been and will be using these pants primarily for all-mountain skiing and snowboarding. The pants are a super 'relaxed' fit; I am 5'5 and ~130 lbs. I typically wear a size 2 in pants (26 in waist) and these pants, in the medium, were definitely 'large' on me, although this is what I was going for as I can not stand any constricting, form-fitting ski and snowboard gear. I think that the small in these pants would have fit more closely to the pant size that I typically wear, and they still would have been a little loose-- but not as loose as I prefer. Overall, I haven't used these pants in the long-term, but they feel and look incredibly durable. If you want a ski pant that won't cling to you or constrict your movement, this is the way to go! So far, they have been worth the investment!

female, 5'10, size M

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Medium

I wanted to leave a review because a year ago I ordered the size L and they were too big. There were no helpful reviews from people my size to gauge if I needed a M or L. Due to the blizzard, they arrived late for my ski trip last year, and I returned them. This year, I purchased the M, and they fit great! The M is recommended for people around my 'specs' in the subject. Likewise, I'd say the M is like a US women's 8-10 (more a 10 or a 32" waist jeans). I'd say the L is for people over 158 lbs, or a US women's 12. I'm 155 lbs and the M is perfect and will continue to be even if I lose 5-8 lbs. or gain a few lbs. If I were to be under 145 lbs., I'd try the S instead. In terms of fit, the legs are definitely a bit baggy. If you like form-fitting ski pants to show your svelte figure, these are not for you. This brand is definitely well made. The pants themselves weigh a few pounds. They also have a zip-off top where you can attach a bib, which this model/style do NOT come with -- its an add on. Looking forward to using these in a month in Colorado!!

would these be recommended for snowboarding?

Hey Sarah!

These are a great snowboarding pant. Since Norrona is a European company, the sizing has been a little different from American companies. If you are wondering which pair would fit you best, hit up one of us and we're happy to help you!

Excellent ski pant!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

If you are willing to fork over the dough for these ski pants they won't disappoint! Wind and waterproof while still remaining breathable. The fit is slimming but still allows for freedom of movement. I do wear a midweight base layer under these for added warmth and there is plenty of room for this. Not many features to busy up the pants, or make them big and bulky like other ski pants. Very simply a favorite ski pant for winter fun.

Norrøna Roldal Gore-Tex Insulated Pant

As usual with Norrona great quality!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Sure Norrana is not cheap. However the quality is great. I bought the medium size and I think these pants are a true sizing. Tall ladies may want to check the seam length before ordering. These are the best insulated pants I have owned and when I need new ski gear I will save my pennies and will buy Norrana whenever possible

Great fit

Love these ski pants. My second pair great fit.

Hi there,
I have similar measurements to you, what size did you buy? I typically wear a 35-36" inseam in jeans.

Best insulated ski pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

I get cold easily. After experiencing hypothermia last year, I resolved to find a pair of the warmest, driest ski pants available. The Norrona Roldal pant fits the bill with style! I own a pair of Norrona Narvik shell pants that I used for ski instructing and love their fit, style, and performance, so decided to try the Roldal insulated pant. In single digit temperatures with biting winds, I was comfortable with just a thin baselayer beneath. Skiing during a day of sleet and freezing rain, I was toasty and dry. The waist is lined with soft material and has great adjustability with well-placed, large velcro tabs. Zippers are sturdy and thigh vents are ample. Fit of my normal size L was a little snugger than I'm used to at the hips so I went with an XL and the fit looks identical to what's shown on the model on the product listing picture. Plenty of room to move in and add more layers if needed, but still looks stylish. The red color is more of an bright orangey-red, not a scarlet red, which suited me fine, since I paired them with a green Norrona jacket and was afraid of looking like a Christmas tree. Best-made ski pants out there, hands down. Afraid of spending the money on these? Once you've worn them, you'll be SO glad you did!

These are bomb proof. Others are shivering around and I am warm and toasty! Now on the second season (approx. 40 days last year and 10 this year) I still love them for those cold days (below 15).

Like them

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These pants do a great job of keeping you warm and looking great while doing it.

Great pants

Absolutely love these pants! The gore-tex works like a charm as always and they're super warm and comfortable with the primaloft insulation. The venting system is great when you heat up and need some extra breathability. I'm 5'6 125 lbs, I got the mediums but they were way too big so exchanged them for a small, perfect fit. I've never been a fan of insulated pants so was a little skeptic buying these but now I'll never go back! Always getting compliments on them, love em' and would definitely recommend them!

These snow pants are by far the best pants Ive ever bought. Goretex for obvious reasons makes these pants uber water resistant even on the wettest colded days I am sitting happy with these pants. I use them for snowboarding as well as telemark skiing. Im 5ft 4" 125 lbs (or less on my good months) and i bought size small. They sit on my actual waiste and not my hips. but they dont give the appearance of a mom butt. they are NOT tight by any means. I prefer a looser fit over skin tight snowpants (which seem to be the style) These fit a little looser in the leg but not loose too loose. They are perfect when wearing ski or board boots but when i am wearing regular shoes or just walking around they are quit long and drag.

The pants came with an attached powder skirt which is awesome for added protection.

all in all, these pants are worth the money.
