Norrøna /29 Dri2 Coat - Women's

Waterproof performance with class.

Norrona kept the style of the Women's /29 Dri² Coat as clean as possible but made sure to include all the critical details you need to get to work, go to a play, or head out on a fancy date in stormy conditions. Perfect from fall to spring, this jacket utilizes an ultra-thin, nonporous membrane that keeps you dry in rainstorms, snowstorms, and blizzards. Despite its incredible waterproof quality, the Dri² shell has a cotton/canvas feel unlike most crinkly conventional hardshells. It's also surprisingly stretchy so you can move easily as you walk across the city or run for a bus, and the soft lining adds a touch of extra warmth.

A regular fit lets you layer underneath the /29 without a hassle, and its thigh length offers more coverage to help keep your work attire dry. The fixed hood cinches across your head simply with a one-handed adjustment at the back, and both the cuffs and hem are adjustable to keep the bad weather at bay. There are two internal pockets to keep your electronics dry, sleeve and chest pockets for your wallet and keycards, and two hand pockets so you can stroll the city sidewalks under a snowy sky with dry digits.

  • Dri² shell
  • Soft, insulated lining
  • Thigh-length regular fit
  • Fixed hood with one-hand adjustment
  • Button adjustment at cuffs
  • Drawcord at hem
  • Two hand, one sleeve, one chest, and two internal pockets

Nice jacket

  • Size Bought: S

Fits true to size. If you're in between sizes or want lots of layering room, size up. Ended up returning because I wanted a thinner shell layer for summer adventures but the quality of this is great and I loved the length and material.

Zipper is plastic

bought this for my girlfriend who says: The jacket itself is nice. The zipper is plastic which is good on some levels, but not so good when it melts being too close to heat... Just a precaution! Sizing runs true to size

    Classic

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS

I really love this coat. I love the canvas material and the heavy weight of the coat. It almost reminds me of a duster, but refined and classy. The only con for me is that it attracts dog hair, but that's easily remedied by a lint roller.

Didn't Know I Could Love This Much!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

I purchased this jacket at the same time I picked up Norrona's Roldal Gore-Tex Insulated Jacket and this is the one I kept! I've already been in a rainstorm with it, but it's so much more than that and is now my everyday coat. I'm 5'4, 128 and a true 6 and tried this in both the Small and Medium - I stuck with the S and can fit a midlayer underneath without feeling constricted. After looking at the size chart, the Small is exactly what I should have gone with from the start - it seems pretty spot on.

Pros: sleek and flattering (I get compliments on it everywhere I go) and I love the matte Dri2 fabric; arms aren't nearly as long as other Norrona jackets - they're perfect; waterproof; soft fleece lining and wrist gaiters (no thumb holes though)

Cons: the outside pockets are kind of shallow - my iPhone fits but I have to keep my hand on it or zip the pocket up a bit to make sure it stays in; it seems to attract all the hair and lint I encounter; I don't mind layering, but there's a part of me that wishes there was an insulated version of this jacket.

All of that said, this is my favorite purchase in a LONG time!

    Great workmanship...fits small

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: M

Ordered this jacket for Vancouver island weather and went by the size chart going with my normal size M. Wayyy small, especially across the chest and through the hips. I'll wait for a sale and maybe pick up the next size up.

    Runs large

    • Size Bought: M

The jacket runs a little large to account for thicker base layers. It's stylish with nice lines and great quality.

    In love with this coat!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I can't say enough about this coat. It's stylish but has all of the technical details you'd expect/want in a higher-end raincoat. The lining is soft. The hood is ample. Most importantly, the rain beaded up in a torrential downpour yesterday. For ref, I am roughly the same weigh/height as the model in the video and went for a medium, which layers perfectly. Very happy.

How does the Norrona 29 dri 2 coat compare in terms of warmth to the norrona lyngen lightweight down 750

The Lyngen is substantially warmer in comparison. This jacket only has a light insulative lining and will not keep you too warm in cold conditions. This jacket is really just there to keep you dry.
